This aluminum deck box will not rust in the salty coastal climate at our vacation beach house. It has a great color, brown, and is easy to open and shut. There is some slight indentations on the backside of the box: 3 vertical 8 inch vertical slight dents. I paid my handyman to assemble this box and dents are on the backside. This damage happened during shipping, although the box was packed well to avoid damage. It wasn’t worth paying my handyman to take the deck box apart and return for an exchange. It took my handyman 2 hours to assemble and he did that alone. Other than those indentations on the back of the box I’m very pleased with this aluminum deck box. Nobody will ever see those slight indentations on the back of the box. I love my weather proof deck box!!!

I needed a deck box that would not become a fuel source in the event of a brush fire, which happens here in California. Most deck boxes are made of plastic. This was one of a few that I found made of aluminum. The final product worked well - it was strong, yet light. It does need to be set on a uniformly flat surface or the lid will not close, but that is understandable. Assembly is not that easy however. Parts are labeled, and that is helpful. However, there is some ambiguity on the orientation of some of the parts, and due to the flexibility of the individual parts, some coaxing is needed to get parts to slide together during assembly. I did paint the outside of the box a light color, as the box sits in the sun and I use the box to hold feed and bowls for our geese. The dark color would cook the feed in the summer heat. If you change the color, it is easiest to paint the parts before assembly.

Great box to hold outdoor tools for the yard and get them out of my single car garage. It was, however, quite a chore to put this thing together.

I don’t generally write many reviews, but felt I needed to on this one. I’m the person who tries to make things work & accept imperfections. But when you pay this much money for something, I expect it should in the very least work. First, I had to put together by myself. The supplied tools were not sufficient enough to accomplish the task so I had to go buy some. This really isn’t a one person task, so more disappointment because I needed to do by myself. It took me hours to do. Then, after these miserable hours and blisters on my fingers, the lid did not line up for me to put the most important screws in place. There is no way for me to finish the product & make it work. The product did come with a slight dent from shipment so this probably make it more difficult. I tried to Bend it back in place only to help me get through some of the steps. Unfortunately, I bought this to put my patio furniture covers in & now they will not be protected from weather because the item does NOT close appropriately because I could not screw in the last screws to put the lid on it.This makes me ask the question…..why not just ship assembled?! I paid way too much for this now to be an item I will likely throw away. Return it you say……how???? The item got scratched by me trying to put it together because of the difficulty. The box…..I don’t have room to “keep” the box. I really wish I could get a refund because this is a product I CANNOT use. Now, as I type, I wonder how I’m even going to be able to dispose of it. It’s so big and awkward for me to handle. So disappointed! I generally get these orders right & it’s hard to accept that I wasted this much money for something I really wanted.I WOULD NOT BUY!!!!

Exceeds expectations for the price point. The first impression was the thin aluminum was flimsy. But, after putting the box together, the thin aluminum construction allows the box to be easily moved and yet strong enough to withstand warping in direct sunlight.

Very sturdy. Easily holds 3 sitting adults and is aluminum, so it won’t rust or crack apart like plastic. TWO PERSON assembly will make your life easier. Very lightweight and easy to move.

I think the box will work well. It is attractive and will be very practicable.Downside: some pieces not complete and do not work well- had to hammer them in place. : the instructions were horrible: each piece should have been labeled and should have matched visual and verbal information and all required tools needed for assembling the box should have been listed.I live with an experimental physicist who had the necessary tools and eventually got it assembled - after several hours. The screws were the special problem. And have a ordinary person check-out the pictures and instructions.

We purchased two of these deck boxes for our patio and pool area. They are well designed and sturdy, and unlike the far more common plastic boxes, won't be damaged by sunlight UV exposure. Assembly was fairly easy. My only complaint is that one of the boxes came with a damaged plastic end cap, which looks as if it were run over by a forklift in the factory. I emailed the company at the address provided in the assembly instructions, but never received a reply. Luckily I found some replacement end caps on Amazon.
