THESE ARE BAD, DELIVERED RUSTY
I should have read the reviews.đ I wasnât expecting Knipex quality, but these pliers are delivered so rusty they wouldnât open or close until I flooded it with WD40, the tips arenât square to each other, the jaws donât close completely, partially due to the over molding of the handle where the stripper area is, ( see picture) but after trimming that off the jaws still donât completely meet, about .5mm gap. That comes from the cutting surfaces contacting, they were so dull, once I sharpened them I could get the pliers to completely close. But the hinge has a âclickâ about 1/3 the way through the motion of opening, where it locks up and you need to push harder through it just to cycle the pliers. đ They have the roughest hinge Iâve ever used, imagine leaving pliers in your fishing tackle box covered in fish guts over winter, and then trying to use them, that what these feel like NEW. I SHOULD HAVE returned them, but once I got out the sharpening files, ultrasonic cleaner, de-rusted it, lubed it up trying to savage it, I figured I owned it. But I can save someone else $5. Should have bought the Knipex I was going to buy. Serves me right for going cheap.
