Minka-Aire F524-ABD, Roto, 52" Ceiling Fan, Brushed Aluminum

I have been crazily looking for these gray fans for my new home renovation and only Amazon has it in stock. Most of the gray/white colors is on back order in major websites. And it is delivered within 3 days, in time for my electrician to install it. I like it that it has a wall controller as I do not like remote controller which spoil the minimalist look. The wall control is also of the same standard size of a light switch. I bought 2 sets and have them installed with the shorter rods in my bedrooms which has 2 light switches. I asked my electrician to use a 3 gang wall plant to line the fan controller together with the light switches giving it a clean look. My DH actually commented that these are the best thing we have decided to change in our new house as we don't have AC and there was a weekend when the temperature soared to 90ish. We just hid in one of the rooms with the fan on to speed 3. The fan is quiet, stable, and sleak. I only like modern and simple design which can be hard to find at this price range.

I have mine hanging from an 18 foot ceiling with a 72-inch down rod. It's the first thing everyone notices and they love it. It's very sleek and modern. It doesn't make a noise and though I was concerned it only has 3 blades, this thing moves so much air around, even on the low setting!!! Also, assembling this fan was super simple and if you're a handy man than installation is easy. Great instructions.

I don’t like ceiling fans, at least not the traditional ones with glass flower trumpets holding the light bulbs and large, paddle-sized fan blades. They can be a huge, negative distraction in a room.That’s why this fan’s minimalist, modern design appealed so much to me. It’s a large fan that looks great on a vaulted ceiling with an appropriate-sized down rod.An electrician installed it, and we didn’t experience any excessive motor noise or wobbling at any of the speeds. It also moved enough air to create a breeze so that we could leave the air conditioner at a higher setting and still be comfortable.There may be more functional fans that are better at cooling a room, but I didn’t really concentrate on that aspect of it because it was love at first sight.

Looks great. Installed well. The motor is too loud. If you want a quiet fan I suggest you purchase another. It sounds like a flour mill.

This is a very simple and elegant fan (in silver), that is virtually inaudible and lower speeds, and at higher speeds it is more the sound of the air than the internal motor you would hear. I had no need for lights, and only needed the fan, so this model was perfect.In addition to the fan, I purchased:- 24" down-rod (nearly perfect color match)- Sloped ceiling kit for slopes to 45 degrees.The fan's instructions state that it can be mounted up to a 22 degree slope. As my ceiling is 35 degrees, I ordered the additional kit to be safe.Install was performed by an electrician and it took 2.5 hours from unpack until clean up and leave.So why not 5 stars? Because:- the circular trim in the center of the fan has minor indentations around the edge and and in some other spots. I noticed this after the electrician was gone, and I saw him work, so I know it was not damaged during the install. I was not about the call him back and go through the trouble of repackaging and sending the unit back, reschedule another instal, etc. You can almost make out the darker spot in the picture with finger pointing at the approximate spot of the dimples.- The remote has its highest speed at 1, and lowest at 4. I find that counterintuitive. We thought perhaps this was caused by the polarity of the wiring, and we reversed them, but still, 1 was fast, and 4 slow.- Air movement is best just under the fan, with a fairly narrow sweet spot.Overall, I am happy with the purchase so far, and will revise the rating if my experience changes.

Very modern design at reasonable price. Quiet operation but moves enough air. Wall switch with 4 speed control is included and it works very well. Just a tiny vibration on one of the two fans I purchased this time. Many people would leave it but I bought a balancing kit at $0.99 at Menards and fixed it within 5 min. Now we almost forget it's rotating. I plan to buy one more.

We were drawn to this fan for the clean, modern lines and the brushed nickel finish. Very minimalistic without screaming "modern". After getting our order postponed twice through our local lighting store, we were happy to find it available on Amazon. It's difficult to find a simple fan that does not have lights and this one fit the bill. Quiet when it runs too. Cannot comment on the installation as our electrician did that. We used a 24" pole extension with it.

The media could not be loaded. Agree with others about the weird control markings. The pin holding the downrod is too small, causing a buzz. The reverse switch is under a cover for some reason. The worst part is the motor hum. Instructions say it might go away after hours of operation. If you know about this issue, run the motor in at the factory instead of shipping a defective unit. UPDATE- Could not stand the motor hum and returned it.
