I couldn’t get my camera to work to upload the pictures lol. The candle making was amazing for my first time and it had easy instructions. I did watch a utube video. It came with 4 small containers, 4 bags of wax, instructions a thermometer, there was one bottle which had spilled but all in all it was good. It kept me busy for a full weekend. You should try it at least once. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Fun Crafting *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2021* My wife is a big candle fan so I decided to purchase this kit for a fun rainy day activity. We truly had a great time making candles. The process itself was relatively easy. Some random things to note that can improve your experience:- The directions, though simple, are a bit confusing due to the English translations.- The water thermometer has an auto shutoff. Not a big deal but when you are trying to track and maintain a temperature it can get annoying.- One bag of wax can fill two of the provided candle holders.- There aren’t any cleaning instructions. So for someone new to this craft that would be helpful.Again this was a super fun thing to do together and the results are are some candles. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Candle-making 101 Kit *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2021* Overall, the kit has everything you need (and more) to create 4 candles in cute, decorative tins that were provided (see photos) - with your choice of scents and colors.The instructions aren't great, so here's my version:What you need:- a saucepan bigger than the provided melting pot- more containers to put extra candle wax in (I "topped off" an existing candle I had that was almost out)Instructions:1) Boil water in your saucepan2) Empty one of the soy wax bags into the melting pot (1 bag makes more than 1 tin candle)3) When the water is boiling in your sauce pan, put the melting pot in with your soy wax (the instructions have you measure the temperature of the water, but it seems unnecessary at this stage)4) Stir the soy wax until it's all dissolved and there are no clumps5) Choose one of the 6 provided color dyes (they come in little plastic baggies, mine were oily and were all crumby). For some reason, they specify the yellow dye in the instructions - but use whatever color you want!6) Mix in the chosen color dye until it's all dissolved7) At this point, I followed instructions which were to wait for the soy to cool to 135F before adding the fragrance oil of your choice. It helps to take the melting pot out of the saucepan onto a trivet too cool down faster8) Meanwhile, put a glue dot on the bottom of a cotton wick and stick it onto the center of your tin of choice (the centering devices are useful - I used the metal ones)9) Once it's cooled to 135F, add 5-10 drops of your fragrance oil of choice and stir (the instructions said 10 ml but not sure how anyone is going to measure that)10) Pour the whole mixture into your tin can (You'll have more than needed for 1 tin. I ended up having tins with layers of 2-3 colors. Or if you have extra candles lying around you want to top-off, I highly recommend putting the soy to good use!)11) Repeat these steps for each batch of soy wax you want to make a different color + scent!Note: if you want to create all the candles in one go, time adds up waiting for the melting pot to cool off and heat up again. You can use another metal pot you have at home, but it was nice just using 1 device dedicated to candle-making lol.Feedback for improvement:- My box, like some others, came oily and the dyes were broken up and crumby. The kit was still usable, but more care needs to be taken so that this doesn't happen. Things were oily to the touch.- The silicone molds seemed random and were not mentioned in instructions. I see from photos that you can use these to make candles too? Lol I would rather save them for baking and make some fun cookies or something.- The scents are a little strong and some are weird - if you have your own essential oils at home that you prefer, those would work great- The quantities are random. You get enough soy for a little more than the 4 tin cans provided. You get more than enough glue dots, cotton wicks, centering devices, and fragrance oil. I thought all the centering devices were overkill - the metal ones worked fine for me and were reusable, making the wooden ones extra waste.- The "gift card" is random and unnecessaryOverall, the kit does have everything to make 4 cute tin candles, so I was pleased. I think this is a great starter kit to learn the process of how to make candles.But once you learn the process through this kit, you'll have extra wicks, glue dots, and color dye to spare - so all you'll need is more soy wax!
