The Delights of Learning Turkish: A self-study course book for learners of Turkish

My boyfriend is Turkish so I wanted to learn, so I'm using this alongside other stuff such as YouTube videos (a channel named FC LangMedia is one I recommend to anyone wanting to learn), TV shows and Duolingo, and of course talking to my bf. This is a handy little book to learn all the grammar stuff, and tenses and rules etc. It has a handy glossary in the back, both Turkish to English and English to Turkish which is very useful when looking for a particular word in either language. The book is written and formatted in an easy to understand way, I think it's a great addition to other methods of learning!

Excellent. Thorough, detailed, comprehensive explanations. With the help of this book I was able to make real progress learning Turkish without a teacher. There is now a CD available - the sound quality on some of the dialogues is not the greatest, but still well worth buying. All in all, an excellent course, and I'm grateful to the author for his time and effort. One of the very best language self-study books I have ever come across.

Having had a few Turkish lessons to give me a basic grounding of the Turkish language and pronunciation I have been looking for a book such as this.It is a really comprehensive course tutorial and useful reference guide for studying Turkish alone. Everything, all the rules and especially the grammar, is clearly set out and explained (in English) and plenty of examples are given. There is also plenty of repetition in the exercises at the end of each unit to reinforce my learning and vocabulary and help me to remember what I've been learning. I find I can use these rules and examples to help me make up my own phrases and sentences using my own vocabulary and then refer back to ensure I am correct.Now I just need to practise!

Good book. If you are a structured person, like a grammar-first approach, then it is the right book for you. Tried other Turkish leaning books before and this is definitely the best.

My boyfriend is Turkish and he was really pleasantly surprised by how good this book is! It covers grammar, vocabulary, culture and includes lots of examples. Way better than the apps I tried, would massively recommend.
