I love Peak Design's products and this is no different. While I couldn't justify the price of the carbon model, the aluminum model too is robust and versatile. It feels a little heavy, but not when you consider the stability. The single adjustment point is great and locks firm, making a great choice for astrophotography and any place where stability is needed.

An amazing product for travel photography. Now I can use the same base to clip my camera to my belt as well as my tripod. The design is sleek and modern that comes with any PD product.

I've used Manfrotto for over a decade. They are still fantastic tripods. But I wanted something super portable and easy to setup. Man, this thing is even better in person. Absolutely rock solid, thoughtfully designed and the quick release + ball head are easy to operate once you get used to the proprietary mechanics. It is so compact, I'm blown away by its portability. I specifically chose this over the carbon fiber because I wanted something that felt heavy and sturdy. Peak Design products are expensive but they are oh-so-worth-it!

Weight too, but the aluminum version is not that light. Other than that, excellent quality, operation, extras, everything is well thought and implemented.

Although expensive, this tripod is really worth every penny. I managed to find it for 10% off and it has exceeded my expectations. I can't justify the cost of the carbon fiber model but the aluminum is light enough and is way smaller and more convienent than my other main tripod. I do wish it would go a bit higher but for what it is, its a great tripod. Well designed and good product. You get what you pay for.
