Regardless the price of this lense, yes its a prime lense ! I love taking landscapes with this one on my cropped sensor

Crisp images, but beware of lack of IS
This is a rather sharp non pricey prime lens I used it with my canon APSC camera and took it for a recent europe tour The only disadvantage was the frequent need to change lenses due to the fixed focal length Another issue is the lack of IS If you are shooting in Aperture priority mode the camera sometimes sets the shutter speeds rather low (even in cloudy conditions ) And this causes blurring of images on handheld shots So this lens is best suited to those used to shooting in Manual mode and taking control over the shutter speed

The serial number sticker was peeled off when i got it. Definitely returning it back.
