How do you recalibrate this thermometer? It wont read past 160 degrees.

Put it in boiling water. That is 100 degrees centigrade. Holding the nut on the back of dial with a wrench adjust the dial so the needle reads 100.

How much do the small lines represent? How would you read 135F ?

Each line represents 4F. You can easily read 136F

How do I get them to work? I have two that don't work

Hi - not sure why they don't work, you simply insert the tip of the needle into the material that is heating, soy, paraffin, beeswax, etc., IN my case I use only 100% pure beeswax, and it's worked fine. The clip on the side of the meter is useful to leave in place if you use a pot chamber for heating.
