Yes 8 inch round hole , good build quality

Q: should i cut back the carpet for a better seal of the subwoofer?

I don't think it's necessary. My speaker came with a gasket that seals the opening. Perhaps some silicone sealant will work in a pinch.

Q: will this fit a skar fox 8 inch mid range speaker?

woofer hole is 7.125" in diameter
