Q: Is the bar spacing too wide for a Quaker parrot?

No. The spacing is 3/4" of an inch and my Green Cheek Conure is safe. Green Cheeks are about the same length as Quakers, but not as stocky, so your Quaker will be fine. My little guy has the 24"x20"x60" size. I would go no smaller than that size for your little Quaker!
