Once the alarm is triggered, it makes the sound for 10 seconds. It will not make any noise until it detects another vibration on the unit.

Once you unlock it and turn the key back 1 way or the other it disalarms the lock alarm. You have about 10 seconds once it starts beeping.

This is a keyed lock and the battery is for the alarm only. You will still be able to use it as a regular padlock with the key.
