Q: I have a massive noggin. size 8. my bike helmit is an xl. anyone else own this with such a large head size? does it fit comfortably/stretch plenty?

I wear my Halo Headband on every ride to keep the back & sides of my neck protected and sweat out of my eyes. I do find the headband a bit tight and your head is bigger than mine. I wear a 7 3/8. I've considered cutting the headband at the back and sewing in an extension but haven't tried it. That might be an option for you. I ride in the desert and soak the head cap in water for cooling. It helps a great deal in our 110+ degree heat. I carry one water bottle for me and another to soak my headband in.

Q: Is this item actually "uv-rated"?

The tail is double layers and so is factor 50, the actual head covering is rated lower at 20-30. It doesn't appear on the manufacturers site but does appear on the attached label of the item.

Q: How long is the neck cover?

Comes down to brush my shoulders. Perfect for me. I wore it at a Spartan obstacle race in Bahrain. 118 F Sun was BRUTAL! Red Neck was covered lol

Q: If you wear a large hat, is this one large enough without being too tight ?

Yes, but you may have to adjust the headband (on your hat) - I wear mine without a hat when running, but with a helmet when riding my road bike - Works great both ways - Buy it!
