This book was such a fun, quick read and I really enjoyed my time reading it!My friend has been recommending this to me and pushing me to read it for the longest time and I'm so happy I finally picked it up! I loved the characters in this, the plot was super interesting and I loved the world this book is set in. It was so different from other Fae books I've read which is always refreshing. In saying that, this also gave me major ACOTAR vibes so if you're a fan, this is a must read as well!!!I have found a new obsessed in Desmond Flynn. He's so incredibly sweet while simultaneously radiating sexual tension and being amazingly hot! I really enjoyed his backstory with Callie and OMG the twists in their story had me in a chokehold! Callie was such a badass, brave and amazing female main character and I loved seeing her kick major ass and standing up for herself.Overall such a good read and I really recommend it!

📚Spoiler Free Book Review📚Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa⭐️⭐️/5(Mentions of strong topics)When I read the synopsis of this book I was instantly hooked but the book failed to live up to what I thought it would be , I had also previously bought the 2nd book as well which I won’t be reading.While the plot was good and the relationship between the Bargainer and Callie was sweet and I loved to see that develop the one thing I just couldn’t get past was how much mention of rape was in this book. It was really dark and ruined the whole book for me.The fact that her stepfather raped her from the age of 12 , the fact that it was talked about so much and then the mention of the thousands of women being raped and impregnated to produce violent blood drinking children… it was really dark and disturbing and honestly just UNNECESSARY.I wouldn’t recommend this book unless you can handle the mention of rape. Although there were no graphic scenes per se it was just too much for me.I would have preferred there be a warning that this book contains sexual assault or strong mentions of it. On the back or even on one of the first pages as it is unpleasant and can be triggering for some.I gave the book 2 stars solely because I love fae and I loved the story between Callie and Des , it was sweet and relatively well written (did find a few typos though). The storyline was also good , could have been a great book…

The premise for this series is amazing – Callie has collected magical IOUs for favours that she has received from the Bargainer, a man infamous for collecting brutal repayments. The story starts with teenage Callie trying to survive after a murder, and it only gets more fast-paced from there! Des is such a fun character – charming, arrogant and dangerous (the perfect storm for a fantasy lead love interest!). The writing and world building is not massively complex, however the witty humour and the steam between Des and Callie far from makes up for that!
