GO TO HORMONERESETDIETBOOK.COM/JUNE TO FIND OUT HOW TO GET STARTED.Just with that subset byline (& article), I cut out all red meat, sugar, fruit, caffeine, grains, dairy and toxins (although I didn't know what toxins were....hadn't read the book yet) for three days one weekend and felt really good, without reading the book. I started to think there might be something to it. As I'm in my car a lot, I ordered the Audio CD's the next day (comes with supplement .pdf CD with assessments, recipes, etc.). I started my 21 Day Hormone Reset on 6/15/15.....and I'm kind of still on it, although I do have moderate amounts of alcohol (no more than 2-3 a week...and you know what a big change that is for me!), sugar and fruit.....I haven't had red meat, caffeine (COFFEE!), grains or dairy in nearly 2 months! Friend, I feel great. I sleep great, I wake up ready to go (girl, before my alarm, like almost precisely 7.5 hours after I've gone to sleep....on the weekends too, up freakishly @ 5:00 AM). I'm not stressed at work and even though this is the busiest time of year, I'm rolling with the punches. At home Husband & I are talking (I'm cleaning) and I'm starting to want to connect with friends again. I'm running 3 days a week, biking and swimming once a week. I also do my arms, Pilates and walk Dog twice a day 1-2 miles.Friend, if you are looking for a change, guidance or a guiding light....borrow this one. I've listened to the audio CD's like 4 times, hoping (and not surprised to fine) Dr. Gottfried's teachings have kind of become the voice in my head. She uses the term 'cell to soul' practice to indicate that nutritional eating/hormone resetting is part of what my problem was, but also I needed to reconnect with me. Now I didn't get any of the blood tests she recommended starting out with. I didn't do any measurements (except weight on the 3rd day and then periodically during) and didn't buy any supplements (other than the multi, Vit. D & calcium I was already taking) or any weird food. I did start having hot water with cayenne and lemon in the morning, started doing green smoothies which I drink a large one for breakfast and a smaller one with my lunch and I take nightly baths with salts & do a drybrush. Didn't buy any of her products, just doing it o'natural.I ended up buying the hardcover book too, so I could refer to some of the more complicated scientific portions and so I could highlight & make notes.Check it out, no pressure. Could even borrow my book & audio CD if you want.This has changed my life, for what seems like forever. I'm down over 10 pounds and Husband says I've never looked more fit. (I can't tell you how that made me feel!)I'm nearly in tears sharing this with you. As our friendship has not yet entirely withered, I feel I won't be so lucky with others. I haven't been able to tell anyone about what I am doing although I want to shout it from the rooftops! I would love to have you walk on this journey with me, as I plan to continue.Yer pal, -Me-

This Book is A Beacon of Hope if You Want to Find Your Way Back to Optimal Health!
I'm so grateful for this book! Dr. Sara Gottfried brings us a summary of her best practices that helped thousands of women and men, lose weight, stabilize their blood sugar, reduce stress and improve the quality of their sleep and their overall health, in a practical easy to follow 21 day plan to reset our hormones and thus find our way back to optimal health.Easy to read and digest the information, I felt my hope increase with each chapter I read. After years of struggling with health and weight issues despite my progressively cleaner and cleaner diet, this book gave me hope by providing just the right amount of technical information so that a layperson like me could piece together this health puzzle, with real life examples and a step by step plan that makes this way of eating easy to follow and understand.I love that each hormone reset takes only three days, and that the resets seem to build on one another. My husband and I are both on day 18 of the hormone reset diet. It's been easy to follow and we've discovered some new favorite recipes along the way. I especially love the Watercress and Arugula Salad with Green Goddess Dressing, and we all loved the Thai Coconut Chicken Soup...especially my 12 year old son, who asked me to make it for him again the next day. My husband and I have both lost weight and body fat, our sugar cravings are gone, I've noticed a dramatic decrease in my appetite, which I now understand is due to the "fruitless" Leptin reset, and I'm sleeping better. What I love most, however, is my new understanding of hormones and feeling my body reset itself. Optimal health, which has seemed out of reach for me for so long, is finally becoming a reality.Thank you Sara Gottfried for sharing your important work!

Overall Disappointing
I love Dr. Gottfriend, and I own her other book, the Hormone Cure. I was really excited for this book, and I thought that it would assist me because I have hormone issues I am treating. She is the best of both worlds - someone with the education and she's "been there" so she knows how you are feeling. The diet is a mostly paleo-style template where she emphasizes eating a pound of veggies a day. She has the different phases set in 3 day intervals so that at the end of the 21 days you have done the entire reset. This is great for someone who eats a standard american diet or someone who is not knowledgeable regarding functional or natural medicine. But if you are someone who eats paleo/clean, and maintains a relatively non-toxic lifestyle, this book is not going to provide you any new information. I already eat a paleo/low carb diet and I did not see how this was a major change from what I already do. I also do not agree with eliminating red meat if you buy it from a safe source (I buy grass-fed and finished red meat from a local farm) but I understand where she is against factory farmed red meat. The book is well written, with lots of evidence for why cutting out each good group will help regulate your hormones. If you are at all in tune with your body, paleo, functional medicine, etc. then this is not the book for you. I am returning my copy.
