Q: Is it possible to lubricate the slides? The ruler, square and protractor are all very stiff to slide.

I returned this item due to the fact that it appeared to be poorly made

Q: How does the right side of the parallel bar stay locked into place?

The first sentence of the item description indicates this. "Our drafting table is a complete A3 Drawing Board Work Station with a parallel motion that slides in a Groove, locking into place with finger buttons at either end". If yours is not locked on the right side and it moves freely there should be something stuck or damaged. When need to slide the rule first unlock the left side first, then press the right yellow bottom at the same time you slide the rule. If you don't doit in this way you can affect the effectiveness of the right lock system.

Q: My choice is inch..not metric.

This drawing table now come on 2 versions one metric and one on inches. check well the specifications. ITs work well for me on both.

Well built great for hobby artist

Work from board top or lap.I use 95 lb paper. Sliding rule may require pressing twice on right tab to stabilize. While I work freehand these simple tools make measurements much easier -- especially with stabilized ruler..

For the price it can't be beat. I don't require high end equipment yet this is the most high end thing I have in my arsenal now. I LOVE it. It does EVERYTHING I need it to do.

Uneven Plastic Drawing Surface

The docked t-square is not secured within the grooves at each end as tight as I hoped it would be. It causes me to double check the grooves that the main horizontal t-square is secure before drawing a line.The item I was sent has small deviations on the drawing surface. They are at several places where the underside support ribs join together. I can actually see the deviation when I hold the drawing board at a reflective angle of a light. It could be I just have a one-off that Q.C. missed, er does China have Q.C.? I guess I can order another one and see if it's defective too. Is yours? Happy drawing!

Legs are not great.

It is marginal at best. The legs don’t stay in place. There is no way to lock the legs in place. The parallel bar is clumsy. You have to push the yellow handle thing in and pop the other side out. I wish I had paid less for it. I would probably not complain so much if I had paid 15 dollars including shipping for it.
