Q: Does it clip on visor

Yes it does but I prefer to wear on my wrist. My friend likes hers on her visor.

Q: Does it tell you how far you hit the ball?

In a way, not directly. It shows the distance of the flag on the green from where one stands. So after striking the ball, go to the new position of the ball and it shows the new distance. Deduct the new measure from the previous one and one can get how far the ball is hit.

Q: Does it automatically advance?

I'm assuming by automatically advance you mean does it automatically go to the next hole when you do. The answer is yes!!! It has many many courses in it and it automatically finds what course you are on. It is done by satellite.
