Can this be used for soldering?

Guess you could as far as proteting your guitar from scratches or damage as it lays down on the work area. While supporting the neck (I'm a big fan of the Nomad Neck Cude Support). However the rest pad will melt and burn quite quickly if the soldering gun or solder touch it. Plus any tiny bits of cut wire, solder, etc will most likely like to stick to the pad, making use in future a bit suspect as those particles could scratch the guitar and could have a hard time trying to wipe off. What you need is a Sylicone Soldering Mat. They are smaller and usually a lighter color like blue to make it easier to see tiny parts, are heat resistand made for soldering. Small enough when working on the guitar can lay on top of the Nomad mat so the guitar is protected.
