simple, intuitive, effective and durable device Score!
I injured the back lifting something too heavy a few weeks ago. Terrible lower back pain. I couldn't move without shooting pain. Sitting, walking, driving, showering and pooping was agonizing. I went to see the Dr who gave a cortisone shot, plus a steroid and muscle relaxer. I got a good back brace, ice packs and alternated with heating pad and took hot showers several times per day for some relief. This time the Dr prescribed a "Tens device". I had no clue what it was. The doctors office called me the next day and told me my insurance would cover all but 180 dollars for a tens unit.! (180 is rediculous).Enter amazon and this little Zewa unit. I ordered it at around10pm after doing some research and it was at my doorstep by 9am the next morning! This little thing is awesome! The 4 sticky electrodes stick to my ass and back without issue. They deliver interesting pulses and good vibrations to my aching back for up to 90 minutes.Push the left and right "arrow" buttons 9 or 10 times each, to increase the intensity, then relax. On my lower back and upper butt, I can only handle level 9 or 10, on most programs. This device has helped my recovery from this latest back injury.Press the "on/off" button, and the LCD is on and the unit is on. Press "program" a few times and it will indicate P1 or P2 thru P9. Those are the different programs. Then increase both channels power, and you're done. The pulses relax you and you're in business. It could not be easier to use and still have the variety of functions and variable intensity. The only way this thing could be better is if it was rechargeable. I have rechargeable triple "A" batteries, so it doesn't matter to me. Five stars for me.If you ever have lower back pain because you lifted something too heavy, like I did. Get one of these. Big doses of extra strength tylenol, or advil, ice packs stuffed into a back brace and a tens unit a couple times a day will help.

Really help gets you through the initial acute pain
When I blew my back out a few months ago, the only time I wasn't in pain was when I was at the chiropractor and the first few hours after leaving. The thing that seemed to help me the most was when the chiro would hook me up to the e-stim machine and put heat on my back. That really loosened my muscles up and allowed for my back to start getting back into alignment when he did his adjustments or had me doing PT.I decided to get myself this little TENS machine to see if it would do anything. Powered by three AAA batteries, I was pretty skeptical. I figured, even if it worked, it couldn't keep it up for more than a few minutes before it died, right?I used the machine much more than is really recommended and I only had to change the batteries every week or week and a half. The thing was powerful and I never had to turn it up anywhere near full capacity. When my chiropractic care reached the point where my chiro was giving me exercises to do at home, I found them much more effective if I i hooked my TENS unit up and sat on a heating pad for 20 or 30 minutes before exercising. That way, when I went to do my exercises, my muscles were loose and ready to move the way they needed to, and not just stretch and snap back to what they were doing before. One important thing: Make sure you buy some pads. You will only get a day or two out of the pads, and the machine is useless without pads. After a set wore out, I tried taping them to myself with medical tape just to see if it is really necessary to buy new pads. It didn't work. By the time the pads stop sticking properly, they've also lost a lot of their conductivity, so you just have to except that the pads are consumable. Everyone's tight on money these days, but they're not terribly priced, and if you have back pain, you know very well that you're willing to sacrifice more than a few extra dollars if that's what it will take to get you better.

Great product for the price!
I bought this unit to replace my iTouch Tens unit. I loved that unit and was afraid to try anything else. It started to short out after many years of a LOT of use for my chronic back pain (2 back surgeries). I can't get another iTouch in the US so I am trying this unit. I just received the unit exactly when promised, and nothing is broken. It is not as durable as the unit I had previously, and I have two lead wires now instead of one. However, I would say that this one is more user friendly and definitely has a lot of power. I was used to some settings on the other, but this Zewa is a pretty close second. It still fits in my pocket and I like the lock feature. I think these units are just as good as the ones in the PT and chiropractors offices, and better because they travel with me! I will update if I change my opinion.

Excellent home Tens unit great for back surgery recovery
This thing is great and a god send. I had spinal fusion surgery in June of this year and I've had a lot of issues with muscle stiffness, soreness and spasms especially if I walk a lot or after the stretching exercises psyscribed in PT. It's small and compact so you can wear it while walking or sitting watching TV or reading , great after stretching/ working out . I have not max it out I usually use it at 2/3 of max power. Also for people who have complained about "shocking " feelings, it because you put the electrodes to close to your spine, your metal implants or a nerve which and be a issue with ANY TENS unit regardless the cost. That's why you should ramp up the power slowly and if your getting a shocking sensation moving the electrodes this will solve the issue. I am using mine daily for about 15 to 30 minutes and it really helps. I works with three common AAA batteries , the only advice I have is to use a good quality alkaline Duracell or Ever ready's , so far with four months of daily use I've only change the batteries twice once for the junk batterys that came with the unit that die after three weeks. For the money the Zewa is a great unit much better than the cheesy over priced Ice hot or Omron units solid in the drug stores. This unit gives full control over both lead lines and there is 8 different message programs built in, this is a great deal and has really help me recover from my spinal fusion surgery and help me stay off the Norco , Oxycodone and Soma. Its really great home Tens unit. Every hard to beat for the price and functionality.
