Some of the best stuff around for sealing artwork
Simply put, this is about the best product you're going to find as a fixative and protective spray coating for your art and crafts. I've used it for years on my art, and even models to protect the painted-on and chalked weathering powders. It has no lasting nasty smell like other brands, and it dries quickly. I've used it on all those art and craft projects listed in the photos, with no ill effect. I used to get this at ACE hardware, but they transitioned to mostly all Rustoleum products, which in the case of a clear protective spray, for your art, steer clear of. Your art will smell for weeks and the odor is nasty. And I don't think the Rustoleum is compatible with some types of colored pencils, it seems to attack the pigment. You won't find any of those problems with this Krylon product.I paid about 25.00 bucks for 2 cans and that will last me for years. Do yourself a favor, if you cherish your art, use the best, this stuff fits that category!

It works pretty good
This worked pretty good, but it did not matter as much as I expected over my graphite drawing. It covered it really well, but just in certain spots where it was really really dark in the background. I sprayed it three times. But it was satisfactory.

Spray sealer
Protects my artwork. I painted scenes on a glass jug & this keeps the paint from flaking off. Dries fast so i can spray several coats.

This works on glass!
I purchased several photos on glass, but didn’t ask for a matte finish so I immediately regretted it because the light reflected badly on the pictures. I finally - with trepidation - researched then ordered this matte finish spray. One at a time I cautiously sprayed the pictures. You can see in the attached photos a before and after photo with one picture that still has a glare and then doesn’t. Pretty amazing, yes?I was careful to spray lightly because I don’t know long-term effects and Krylon doesn’t know either. I suppose this means you can take old frames with regular glass and spray them matte too.I’m very happy.

Krylon vs Rustoleum Matte Finish for artwork
The Rustoleum Matte spray is soooo much better for my “artwork” in my coloring books than this Krylon. When it dries, the page is a little sticky. It also takes longer to dry than the Rustoleum spray. I also tried the HodPodge matte spray. That was nice also. A little bit more pricier… and when you have to spray EVERY page that you color w/Prismacolor pencils in EVERY Hanna Karlzon coloring book, it can get pretty costly!! So, out of the 4 sprays I tried the Rustoleum Matte Finish for artwork was the best along with Hodgepodge matte spray… both equal in outcome, Hodgepodge costed more. Oh, and the smell was much better. The Krylon Matte finish #1311 the smell is soooo strong! You have to do this outside! Also the Keyon matte finish leaves a “film” on the picture!!!!! I hate it!
