I bought this trowel for two reasons: because I have tendonitis and my regular trowel was causing me pain, and because our current dig site involves a lot of scraping. It fit the bill perfectly for both reasons. At our archaeological dig site, we have hit a layer that is required hours of repeated scraping--I noticed much less pain in my wrists after using this trowel. It is also a nice, hefty trowel, so I was able to move more dirt than with a teeny margin trowel or a pointed trowel. I'd definitely recommend this as an archaeological tool!

I have a Marshalltown trowel from 10+ years ago. I remember being in the store, comparing it to a different trowel that was cheaper but more flimsy and less comfortable. I didn't realized I'd use the trowel so often for the next decade. It's still comfortable after 8+ hour sessions. You need to completely dry it or else it will immediately rust, but otherwise great. I haven't used this margin trowel yet but it looks to be the same (high) quality.

Could have been a 5 star, but the rear end of the handle pops off. Although it's an easy fix by adding glue to it; I don't feel I should be needing to add glue to a finished product

Awesome for tile work

Top quality. i buy this everytime i need one. as a tile setter the durability of this trowel and the thickness are just perfect. thin set and mud set won't stick to it as compared to others

Corrosion after used two times

For small home repairs we often buy plaster or concrete in small plastic pails from the hardware store, rather than 70 pound bags for the big jobs. This is the perfect tool for mixing in a small pail, and scraping out the last bit of material in a small pail. This one works good in a 5 L size pail. A larger size trowel is available for bigger pails. Sometimes called a bucket trowel.
