Great idea! Ingenious way to repurpose veteran firehose! (Hmmm...maybe good for a rat rod door latch too? Lol!) Saves your igloo cooler and in a very cost effective manner! Anyone who has trouble getting these on and off...man! They just don't eat their Wheaties! Or they just like to hear themselves complain! Or they're pissed they didn't come up with the idea! (Truly ingenious in its simplicity...a True home run all around) Really not hard to operate, hold the lid down better than the originals, super tough, and won't catch on anything or cut your leg! Not to mention they install in seconds (use the screws supplied) ! On the aesthetics? Like...I wish firehose came in different colors! (maybe a suitable enjoyable color in SEM auto interior dye? If I try it I'll add to my review later...think of the possibilities...camo, skulls, inlaws' head on a stick, anything you like in pairs! :-) ...sorry...got a bit carried away there!...but you get the idea!) The yellow kinda grows on you though. The smooth side looks a bit better, but I opted for rough side out due to better grip. I will use these on any other igloo I get...possibly even a new one! If I ever need the hinges I'll try them too. Trust me..these are a win win. If ya need em...get em. You won't be disappointed!
