Will this hold a large industrial size pattern book the size of 2 medical study books?

Considering how large that particular book you are describing, I do not think this book stand would fit your needs.

Would it hold a large 1.5”-2” binder?

I love this bookstand for library books (novels) and other regular sized books, but it is not large enough for binders or even a very large book (dictionary, e.g.) in my opinion. It folds up very neatly and small.
