The best drill I’ve ever had
The drill is very high-quality. The battery seems to last forever and recharges quickly.

Probably the best 18v drill on the market
There are honestly a lot of good drills out there, but what makes this one stand out is that it has a mechanical clutch. Most drills have electronic clutches that make the tool way too strong, so even on low torque settings you still end up stripping screws and potentially even breaking the thing youre screwing into. The mechanical clutch in this one means that for work involving fasteners, you have the delicate touch you need to not destroy anything. And yet in spite of that, its still among the most powerful drills (not THE most powerful 18v, but its up there) for when do need that. I have been abusing this thing constantly for two years now and it still operates just like that day i bought it. I have left it out in the sweltering florida sun multiple times, and even in the rain one time. While I dont advice you ever do that, my unit seems completely unphased by it. I would buy this drill 10x over

Best bang for the buck for a professional drill
I bought this drill to replace an earlier one that had the chuck seize after 12 years. It was badly corroded and I could have prevented the failure. I ran a small construction company for 9 years and learned that Makita, Bosch, Milwaukee, and Porter Cable make the best tools. Makita is the most reasonably priced among these, for a tool you intend to buy only once. This drill was designed smaller on purpose, with super torque. Smaller drills get in more spaces, especially in cabinetry. With 2 batts, and one always charging, you can build a deck or a fence quickly and sink 4.5 inch screws all day long. DeWalt, Ridgid, Ryobi can't do that - they don't have the torque this drill has. The charging station sings a Bach tune letting you know you have a fresh batt fully charged. It was designed for professionals that need to keep working without interruption. It's balanced and ergonomic for the professional, and easy to carry up a tall ladder. I don't have any tattoos. I'm thinking about getting a tattoo of this drill... but not really. My fav pro tools are Milwaukee, but their prices are nowhere near as friendly. On a side note, use Milwaukee drill bits on your Makita to save you time and frustration ;-)

Great tool
Have used Makita tools for years. My last drill lasted 15+ years. Was in the middle of a project when it died. Went to Home Depot and Lowe’s to replace but they only sold kits with multiple tools I did not need. Back to Amazon where I could get just this one item. Paused the project for 2 days then this arrived. Lighter weight than the last one, just as strong, and quieter. Highly recommend!

Great cordless Drill
I own a lot of cordless equipment: I consider Makita bullet-proof for the most part, a step better than most. a bit pricier than other brands but normally worth the extra. The weight, balance, variable speed and torque are stellar. I purchased this exact drill several years ago as a kit with the impact screw gun, charger and two batteries. After hundreds of hours of use the keyless chuck bound up & made the drill useless. I considered going with a competitive brand but decided to stay with Makita. I wish it included a battery for the price.

Love the drill
Good price (at least when it was on sale) and it’s got just enough power for a battery powered drill. Battery seems to last a long time and it’s pretty durable. Definitely been dropped a few times and has never skipped a beat.

Not Brand new or 1st hand! REFURBISHED JUNK!
Avoid at all costs, I have tons of Makita Tools, they come sealed in boxes... This cigarette lighter came loose in a plastic bag, the variable speed doesn't work, only has 1 speed and it throws sparks and a torch flame out the rear end when running, enough so you could probably light a cigarette with it. Not sure of the history but I am pretty sure these are refurbished or 2nd hand items.. Kinda upset, this thing is going back!
