Osprey Aether 65L Men's Backpacking Backpack, Green L-XL

Osprey always puts out quality products and this is no exception. The bag is large but sleekly designed, it is taller rather than thicker so it sits close to the body to keep your center of gravity in check. The ventilation in the back in amazing, the best I’ve had in a backpack. There is ample storage without being covered in pockets, the trekking pole loops are perfect. I like that there is a separate (but removable) sleeping bag compartment, that can be accessed on it’s own, I also like that the whole front can be unzipped for full access to your stuff, great for those times when you need something buried deep in your bag but don’t want to unpack the whole thing. I appreciate that practically every zipper has its own buckles that go over top for added security and to reduce stress on the zippers themselves. Also the color is unmatched in most pack designs, it’s so refreshing to have something colorful and bright for a change rather than primarily utilitarian. My only two (small) complaints are the drawstring toggle on the main compartment of the bag, it feels a little over designed and more complicated than it needs to be in my opinion considering that it’s only job is to hold a small amount of tension on a string, you have to hold onto a tiny little loop and pull against the weight of the bag in one direction while pulling the string itself in the other direction. My other small complaint is that there aren’t loops on the bottom for extra storage or a sleeping pad…both minor problems that are easily overlooked with the superior quality of the rest of the bag

Bought this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. Super cool that it can open up to see everything in your pack! It was fun discovering all the storage and little pockets it offers.

My old aether from rei had a removable hood that turns into a day pack. This does not.

I used an older version of this pack for my thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2014. I had originally started with a very well-known ultra-lite backpack which became too uncomfortable. So I switched to another UL pack that also was too uncomfortable after a week of using it. No matter how I adjusted them, I ended up with a store back and bruises on my hips. I switched to my Osprey at Lone Pine before entering the High Sierras. It was the heaviest my pack got on the entire 2,660 miles (just over 50 lbs) due to having to carry ice gear, bear canister, and 9 days worth of food. Yet, it was by far more comfortable than either UL pack despite it's heavier weight. Once I completed the High Sierras, I continued to use my Osprey because of the comfort. All told, I hiked with it for nearly 2,000 miles over 4 months. As for it's durability, Osprey came out with a new version of the pack right before I started the hike that had pockets on the front of the hip belt, something mine didn't have. I thought if I could wear the pack out in one or two places by being rough with it, I'd be able to trade it in for a new one. But even my abusive handling of it for this 2,000 miles, I couldn't ruin any part of the pack. All-in-all, the quality build of the pack along with the carrying capacity and exceptional comfort make this pack my go-to in every multi-day hike. Sure, there are lighter packs out there, but if much rather carry the extra pound this pack weighs and be comfortable than be in pain and struggling all the time. One last comment: after getting to North Kennedy Meadows, I averaged 33 miles of hiking or day using this pack until I got to Canada (over 1,500 miles), mainly because I was comfortable and having a great time, thanks in large part to using this pack!

Increíble pero cierto. Es un fallo de id o no se en que estaban pensando. La mochila, que se supone que es para montaña, tiene un punto débil: los bolsillos laterales, ya que están fabricados en una tela expansiva que se agujerea con mirarla, una tela lamentable que con cualquier enganche se convierte en horas en un gran agujero, haciendo inservible los laterales para las botellas de agua. Con solo dos usos dan ganas de tirarla.

Well-constructed, sturdy backpack with a good number of outside pockets. It was comfortable to wear on 6 night backpacking trip. Easy to pack, lots of room. Would recommend.

Wirklich extrem robust verarbeitet. Durch die vielen Einstellmöglichkeiten am Rucksack kann man ihn für jeden perfekt passend einrichten. Platztechnisch gibt es auch nichts zu meckern. Mit dem Teil geht es bald erst mal eine Woche nach Madeira

Mega veel ruimte en kan super compact gemaakt worden. Zit echt heel erg fijn op de rug met goede padding en ventilatie op de rug, omdat de backpack niet volledig tegen de rug aanzit.
