It's as shown here with a smooth inner rectangle and ornate outer rectangle. Very nice box and I was pleased with it.

Q: can you engrave a name on the box?

Yes the top and sides provide a large space for engraving a name.

Q: What color is the inside?

Unfortunately, I don't recall. It was a gift. I can assure you, though, it is beautiful inside and out.

Q: The description says jeweled lock. Does the key actually lock the box or is just decoration?

It does actually lock the box. I bought this Box For my wife and she adores it more than any other that she has. It is definitely a good purchase.
