There's a lot to like about the Tekton 1/4" SAE 12 point socket set. The quality, durability, and price makes it worth buying if you're looking for a 1/4" socket set. First let's talk about the quality. These sockets have the size stamped on them and they're easy to read. They fit on my ratchets well, very little wobble and no prying them off to change sockets. Most importantly, they fit on fasteners without play, no rounded off bolts or nuts. The rail they come on is also a very good storage option for me because of the small footprint it takes up in my box. After a few months of use, they've held up great. My most used size is by far 3/8" and I haven't noticed any kind of degradation in quality. The rail does break in a little and the clips become easier to slide, but this hasn't affection the function of it. This set is priced competitively to other similar ones. Are there cheaper sets? Yes, but for the reasons I've mentioned earlier I think it's worth it. This is without mentioning Tekton's warranty. Of the companies I've had to warranty items with Tekton has by far been the easiest. I'm a mechanic and so my tools are my living. If I don't have the tool I need, I can't do my job (or at least it makes my job a lot harder). All Tekton needs to warranty a tool is a picture, a part number, and an address to send the replacement to. It's because of all these reasons that I think the Tekton 1/4" SAE 12 point socket set is worth buying. Whether you only use a wrench every now and then or every day, in my experience, this set will hold up and get the job done.
