Fit and function - Spot On!
Hesitant at first, but glad I ordered it as soon as I installed it. Not as difficult as I initially thought it might be, Functions perfectly, no leaks, sturdy and holding up with no problems. I highly recommend!

Great replacement

This fixed my leak though wasn't an identical replacement
My toilet was leaking and kept refilling. As everyone pointed out it's the flapper seal. This product wasn't an exact replacement as the flapper assembly was slightly smaller, but the seal diameter was exact. With a little exchanging of the stem and flapper my toilet is fixed. The flapper unscrews so the replacement job was easy.

Quality replacement part for my American standard
I have an American standard toilet and this part broke. I couldn't find it anywhere. None of the local hardware stores. None of them had this. But of course Amazon did. I was a bit afraid to buy it because I thought it's not going to work. But it did. It's working very well and seems to be of good quality. It was not difficult to replace. It's working well. There's no leakage. No seal problems.

Not up to American Standard standards!
In all probability you're buying this for just the green cap that broke when you tried to replace a leaking seal. The part works fine, but the material used is flawed and the tabs that lock the plastic screw in place are too high. The green cap gets hard and brittle with age and tends to break when you remove the plastic black tab that holds the seal in place. I'm on well water (with a water softener), so no chlorine is in my water, which I would assume would 'age' this part quicker. And of course American Standard doesn't sell just the cap so you have to buy the entire valve. I wish I knew this before I installed 6 of these in our 2 houses. So before you install the green cap, using a sharp razor cut down the nubs a little that 'lock' the plastic black tab in place. That way it'll come off easier the next time you replace the seal.

After having a leaky tank for over 1 year (this was a brand new toilet), the tank seal has saved us a fortune in water usage. Rec'd when promised, good quality.
