For years I have been purchasing metal aglets from different companies and when asking if there was a tool for them was told use a pair of pliers. Pliers have never given me the finished product I can achieve with this marvelous crimping tool. I highly recommend it.

Anyway, I make a number of things with ties so wanted an aglet crimper so that the ends would be properly finished.Given time, this does a good job of installing aglets. With that said, it took me maybe 10 tries to get it to work (it's very finicky), and even then, it was not unusual for me to try to install one just for it to fail. I'm not sure whether this is normal or not for an aglet crimper, but it was still sort of annoying. STill, I could always trim the tie and install a new aglet (aglets are pretty cheap), and I did very much like the final result.
