'The Brick & Mortar' of US & Naval aeronautics from 1915 & NACA-1958 & NASA
For anyone who's curiosity takes them to the world of U.S. aeronautics and it's 'brick & mortar' beginings. Go no further. Much 'inside baseball' stuff and lot's of the firsts from 1915 NACA-1958 NASA : advent of the NACA, the 1st wind tunnels at MIT,1st Aero Engineering curriculums, the military- industrial- university complex. Much of it established thru Hunsaker's genius. One 'eye opener' was Gen. Billy Mitchell's threat to the establishment of Naval Aviation. An attempt ,although well intentioned ; if not 'headed off' by Hunsaker, could have led to incalcuable delays in bringing War in the Pacific to a conclusion. Hunsaker remained 1st in class from his graduation ranking at Annapolis thru his entire career.
