Rubie's Super DC Heroes Deluxe Muscle Chest The Batman Child's Costume

Holy Smokes Batman!! This is one of the best costumes/products I've EVER purchased! I thought that I was just buying a simple use-it-once-and-pray-it-hold so-up-and-doesn't-fall-apart-before-Halloween-is-over costumes. NOT SO MY FRIENDS!!My 3 year old has literally turned into Batman! We had 4 Halloween events this year and he wore that costume to every single one. We live on Maui, where its HOT on Halloween and my little superhero didn't complain once that the costume was too hot or that he was too sweaty. This costume fits him quite snugly. If I were to purchase it again, I would most likely order a size up. But the tightness of it doesn't bother him at all.He has now wore the costume to the 4 Halloween events, the grocery store, to school to pick up his brother & sister, outside playing, and yes, he's even requested to wear it to church! I love when I come home from a hard days work only to be met by my sweet, adorable 3 yr old Batman!I can't believe how well it's holding up. This is the "muscle" costume, so the inside is a formed, plastic type of thing and the rest is polyester (hot hot hot) but we have even washed it in the washing machine and it's held up! We did find that we had to safety pin the cape/hood onto the body of the costume, so it does have some holes starting to appear from all the pinning/unpinning we've had to do, but all in all this is a GREAT PURCHASE!The costume looks exactly like the picture. The belt is a separate item, and unfortunately, it's disappeared, but that's ok. I would definitely purchase this item again and I would most definitely purchase from Rubies again. The price was great and the shipping was fast. What more could one ask for?

Got the size 4 for my grandson who turned 4 today. He is wearing the suit over his clothes and he loves it!! The cape is way too long and drags on the floor but it would be very easy to cut shorter, although my grandson refused to let me. He likes it that way. There were several strings (long threads) on the wrist area that we simply cut off. I like that the bottomless feet just fit over his socks and have an elastic strip on the bottom to keep them in place. I feel like we got a bargain for this cool costume!

I bought the toddler size and it fit my smallish 2 1/2 year old perfectly for Halloween. It's not super high quality and won't last forever, but my son loves it and it's perfect for what we wanted it for. The muscles are almost like molded, thin foam, unlike some other costumes he has that feel more like stuffing. He wore constantly and it was pretty grimy, so I threw it in the wash on delicate, line dried it, and it came out almost as good as new. After the constant wear, the bat sign on the chest was starting to wear off a little in the middle.

This is surprisingly well crafted. There suit itself is a thin neoprene or polyester material (very stretchy). The chest part of the suit is mounted to molded plastic to provide the ripped muscles. My son got a kick out of that!The bottom feet part of the suit wrap over sneakers or shoes to look like boots. There is a separate belt piece that gets tied on and the mask and cape combo is made of that same stretchy material.My son LOVES it and can't wait until Halloween. He says he looks like the real Batman.The fit is just right. He is 3, and a little on the small to average size. It doesn't fully close in the back but he is wearing clothes under. I'd say sizing runs small, but material is forgiving.

Save yourself the trouble and your child the heartache and pick another costume that isn’t from Rubies. First, it takes forever to arrive. Secondly, we first bought a size large for my 8 year old, which according to the size chart should have been right. When it finally arrived, it was enormous. You could have fit three of my sons in there. My son had a meltdown because he’d been waiting and waiting and was so let down. So, I ordered a medium. A week and a half later (today,) it arrives. My son was so excited.GUESS WHAT?!?! It was about the size of a toddler costume. I had to cut him out of it because he insisted it would work and somehow shoved himself into it.How does a kids large basically fit a grown man and a kids medium fit an average four year old? This is the only Batman costume my child wanted, and he has waited and waited. I will never buy from this brand again!I’ve never seen my son so heartbroken- all he has wanted for months is to be this specific Batman. Thanks a lot, Rubies, for the inconsistent sizing and the terrible timing.

Upon opening, the costume itself is wonderful.The mask is attached to the cape-it is Batman!- it makes the costume. It is also soft and fits, the belt is lightweight, and the one piece suit has the padding and details that are impressive.A little big, {not too big to wear everyday all day though!} but a perfect fit for my four year old as this will need to be washed regularly and he will grow into it to for the next year or so making this a great value.EXCEPT---after THREE days the mask was ripping off the cape! As were the underarm seams coming apart.I cannot send this back as my little one still wears the costume sans mask/cape.If you are buying this for a Halloween party or Tricks or Treats then it is worth it for one day/nights use.Otherwise, as a costume to be played with regularly in a pre schoolers make believe box, I don't think it will last very long.

For a gift. Its a nice costume but didnt see the mask was fabric so thats why giving it 3 stars. The kid was happy but seemed dissapointed with the mask just like i was.

This was a great buy for my son. We got it on sale and are very happy. We bought the size 2-4 as he is usually a size 3 and he won’t fit it for long. It runs small but is great otherwise.

Good costume for the price. The head gear/mask is attached to the cape and you have to pull your head thru which is a bit tricky for the kids to figure out at first. The mask/head gear doesn't separate from the cape.
