Wonderful product! If you have questions, call the pharmaceutical company!!
I am anemic and my Dr prescribed iron pills to be taken 3 times a day. When I went for my first lab test, my iron levels were even lower and my Dr did not think I was taking the pills, even though I was. I decided to try liquid iron as I thought it might be absorbed better. I ordered a different brand of liquid iron (not this product review) and the taste was horrible. It had to be taken in two doses and refrigerated and I was seriously wondering what I was going to do, because there was no way I could stomach that product. I decided try NovaFerrum 125 Liquid Iron. I bought my first bottle and was pleased to see that the taste was not bad at all. This is pretty great, since I have a hard eating disgusting medicine or foods. The liquid is dark in color with a reddish tint and I love that it does not have to be refrigerated. That makes it so much easier! I do drink Emergen C afterward, to help with absorption. I started taking NovaFerrum about two weeks before my second lab test and my iron levels did go up. I was thrilled to see that after two weeks of liquid iron, there is an improvement, whereas with two months of pills, I was worse off. I must say that I do feel better. I have increased energy and I am not as exhausted. Frankly, I wake up about 15 minutes before my alarm goes off and I no longer hit snooze for two hours before I have the energy to crawl out of bed! My Dr asked what I was taking and she said normally they do not recommend liquid because it stains teeth. However, I reassured her I do brush my teeth right afterward and I have not had any problems. She recommended a higher dosage than what is on the bottle, due to my specific circumstances. When I took the pills, I had constipation, but no other problems. On NovaFerrum, even on a higher dosage, I have had no problems at all. I ordered my second bottle of NovaFerrum and I had a question about the color. I emailed the supplier and explained my concern. The supplier emailed me telling me to call a 1-800 number, but did not say anything else. Unbeknownst to me, the 1-800 number was the pharmaceutical company that makes the product. The beginning of the conversation was a little bit awkward as I thought it was the supplier, but once I realized who I was talking to, things were much better. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to Gensavis Pharmaceuticals. When I called, I spoke to a real person right away, who was able to help me. I received quite a bit of information, even more than I had expected, and although I was happy with the NovaFerrum before the call, afterward, I felt even better. I cannot stress this enough. I have a long way to go towards fixing my anemia, but being able to talk to someone at the pharmaceutical company who was willing to explain how the medicine is stored at the company site, answer questions, give me a direct number to call that specific person back, and encouraged me to do so, made me feel like I had someone else on my side while I am dealing with this issue. If you are taking a medication and you have a concern, you should reach out to the company, because I truly think that everyone needs to feel comfortable with what they are taking. Please do your research and talk to the company so that you are comfortable with what you are taking! My next lab test is in about a month and I know my results will be better. I love that this product is working for me and I really appreciate the time the company took to discuss my concerns. ***Update**** I just had my iron levels tested and I am thrilled to say that I they are finally in range! Below is a snapshot of my test dates, levels, and what I was taking. 21 May 17- Ferritin level - 21 (good range is 30-400) Prescribed iron pills 3xs a day 13 Jul 17- Ferritin level - 12.0 Dr thought I was not taking my pills, even though I was! 18 Aug 17- Ferritin level - 14.0 I found out about the July results in late July and promptly ordered liquid iron. I calculated the elemental iron in the pills and translated that to the liquid dose. First product was disgusting. I ordered Nova Ferrum and had been on it for two weeks when I had this test done. Dr said that my calculations were correct, but increased my dosage. 11 Oct 17- Ferritin level- 33 Taking Nova Ferrum 125. I needed to have my iron levels up for several reasons and I am so excited that I am now in range!!! About two weeks after starting Nova Ferrum, I saw a vast improvement in my energy and demeanor. It has been about six weeks and its so wonderful to not feel exhausted and cranky all the time!!

Fighting low iron
I’ve only been taking for a few days but overall great product. I haven’t noticed any issues with my stomach like if I was taking pills. Great taste

Has made a huge difference for me!
All the women in my family have had iron deficiency problems, much as many women in general do. I have been trying to get enough iron through diet and was only sporadically taking the 25 mg iron supplement I had been recommended years ago because, as I have read from others' experiences, it made me constipated and I never noticed a difference in how I felt otherwise. In the years since that recommendation, I have been vegan for about 4 years and eat a LOT of iron rich veggies and pulses, and eat vitamin c containing foods in order to increase iron absorption. I have even tried (and failed) to give up caffeinated coffee and tea altogether because they are such iron absorption blockers. I went in for a wellness checkup with a new doctor last month and--what a surprise!--my iron levels were low. But not just casually "let's keep an eye on that" low, but abysmally low, as were my ferritin levels (ferritin is where our bodies store extra iron for backup use on the days when we don't get enough iron through diet alone). So, my doctor told me to start taking a shocking regimen of 325mg (!) of iron until I get my iron and ferritin levels back up to an acceptable number. I read that I might not get constipated with liquid iron as opposed to capsule form, and I have found that this brand is wonderful in that regard. As I said earlier, I follow a whole-food based, vegan diet so I am very regular and this supplement hasn't really affected that, although it has changed the texture and color of my bowel movements. Anyway, I'm not complaining. I have been taking it every day for a couple of weeks, slowly increasing the dosage up to what my doctor's recommendation was, and within the first week I felt the difference in energy and focus. The dark circles under my eyes seem to be disappearing (maybe I'm imagining that) and I am very hopeful that this will make a marked difference in my quality of life. A 25 year old should not have such difficulty waking up and staying awake as I was having. I do have to sort of force myself to swallow this stuff because the taste is not exactly pleasant, however I've tasted MUCH worse medicine. The flavor is ALMOST pleasant with an aftertaste verging on yuck. Wash it down with water and a drink or bite of something more palatable and the taste is gone quickly! I will be taking this in high doses until I get my iron levels up--maybe I'll even be able to donate blood someday!-- and will keep it on hand for smaller doses to make sure I don't become deficient again. Great product. I really appreciate that it is vegan friendly.

Taste is NOT bad and this is the only iron that hasn't hurt my stomach so far.
Just starting this supplement so will update review after I have labs rechecked! But so far this is actually the 5th or 6th iron supplement I have tried. I am very iron deficient and I started off trying the Rx pills, two types that really wrecked my stomach. Then I moved onto liquid iron glycinate which did raise my levels but not much. The glycinate also is not a very high dose so you have to buy a ton of it and it still upset my stomach a tad. I decided to start off slowly with this one to make sure I could tolerate. Just 1/4 tsp and so far no issues being severely bloated/constipated or upset stomach. I will gradually raise my dosage per doctors instructions. As far as the taste I have to say I do not understand why some say this is so terrible. I have to imagine those people must be used to sickeningly sweet flavors, syrups etc. I wont say the taste was incredible but it was fine and tolerable and I just chase it with water but you could use juice or something else also. I have already noticed better energy and this supplement isnt turning my stool dark green like the others which means its being absorbed well.

Now THIS is a solid supplement!
Great item! Do not even hesitate to purchase. The taste is not that bad at all. Sweet even. BUUUT it most certainly raised my levels. From Iron transfusions because my levels were so low. After a year boom, low again. I've tried other brands because the pills make me nauseous. But after taking these had a 3 month follow up and my levels were in a normal range. FINALLY in the green. I'm now committed. I do now do intervals to not have too much iron intake as that may be dangerous, but after a week of intervals I do daily. Pretty much interchange because the increase in my level was rapid. Love this product though. I'm only reviewing as I'm here making my 3rd purchase!

THE BEST - WITH important Information
Even after having taken solid and chelated iron pills for months, I still had critical iron numbers, so I purchased this and take it along with Ferritin Tablets (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00014ECFO/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B00014ECFO&linkCode=as2&tag=4abettelife&linkId=05e3444c188fee00d3e841cb8fab7ae9 ) It comes in a box with a marked plastic measuring spoon (nice!). I take it on an empty stomach, at least an hour before a meal. I chase it with 12 ounces of orange juice (details below). I am careful to take it separate from calcium, or magnesium, or zinc - I understand these can interfere with iron absorption. If I take my multi-vitamins in the morning, I do the iron at night, or vice versa. Within DAYS I could tell my iron levels were improving. I could breathe more easily, my energy levels were much much higher, and I could do triple the exercises I did days before. I love this product. It's pleasant to the tongue. (I do chase it with a glass of orange juice, because iron absorbs better when taken with vitamin C, and because it prevents nausea). I will tell you though, I titrated my does (started with half the dose, then worked my way up as my body got used to it), because iron is really hard on the system (very oxidizing to the stomach and intestines). The first day I took it, I didn't take it with enough liquid and within 20 minutes I was very nauseous. But it was bearable, only lasted 40 minutes, then went away completely. Then I started chasing it with 8-12 ounces orange juice, with much less nausea. I do NOT recommend mixing the iron into the orange juice. 1. It's icky sweet together and 2. the iron can stain your teeth, or so I've read. I spoon the iron into the back of my mouth, swallow it, then drink my OJ. For a week, after each dose I had slight sternum discomfort (this is a well-documented side-effect of iron-loading, and was for me proof positive it was working. It calmed down after about a week. It has not happened since my body has built up my iron numbers.) To reduce the harsh oxidizing effects on the stomach and intestines, I also take a variety of anti-oxidants with it (omega 3, ALA, and EGCG). For maximum absorption, I also take 1 ounce of water with vitamin c because 12 oz OJ isn't enough Vit C to ensure there's enough immediately available Vit C for max iron absorption. For what it's worth, I did do research on whether the body absorbs more iron if you take higher doses, and the answer seems to be, "not so much". They even say absorption seems better if you only take it once a day, not twice. So if you have nausea on the full dose, you may do just as well iron-loading with the 1/2 dose. I do intend to update my post when I have my newest blood test numbers to show the before-and-after, but I need 3 months for that. I bought a second bottle, will purchase again. Highly, Highly Recommended.

Purchase it !!! It really works !!!!
I tended to always have very low iron levels and it was always difficult increasing my iron and maintaining it at a decent number. Anyways , recently during my third trimester of pregnancy I needed to get my iron up as my due date was approaching and I wanted to avoid having a blood transfusion. When I tell you , this worked wonders!!! It jumped my iron up in a little over 2 months . Results attached. I take it every morning on an empty stomach and follow it with some orange juice or water with a little lime ** juice . Also, it did not give me any constipation or that terrible upset stomach that I’d get with regular iron tablets. 10/10 HIGHLY recommend! The taste is not bad at all. I personally like the taste contrary to some of the reviews I am seeing . It tastes exactly how I would expect it to, a little earthy with a touch of a sweet aftertaste (the added flavoring) . Just remember to brush after to prevent staining !!!

Incredible iron
I can't recommend this liquid iron enough! I have low iron because I have hashimotos. This causes me to be severely fatigued and lack focus. I started feeling better after 1 use. Every other iron supplement has made me sick to my stomach but I can take this on an empty stomach with no issues. I also recommend it for menstrual cycles. It's not a bad price for the quality of the product. The consistency is a little weird. It's thick and metallic tasting. Honestly like blood, but I care about how I feel, not the taste and it makes me feel great. It also comes with a little serving spoon, I just prefer my teaspoon.
