KONG Wild Whole Elk Antler Dog Bone

Apparently the folks at Kong have gotten so big that they hire people without dogs. Because only a non dog owner would package it this way. It comes with a ziptie attaching it to the cardboard display. Fine. But they also GLUED IT! Why??? I spent 20 minutes scraping and scrubbing and never did get all of that "nontoxic glue dot" off. Maybe it's nontoxic, but I'm sure the residue doesn't taste good. There's no way to get it all off. Hey, Kong...antlers aren't a smooth surface, they're POROUS!Meanwhile, my dog sits watching and whining, wondering why I'm not giving it to her.

I've got two pretty heavy chewers and it takes a least a couple of weeks for them to get through one. I know that you may be wondering, only a couple of weeks? Trust me, they chew on these things for hours at a time. It can be costly but the preservation of my sanity when they aren't trying to chew apart furniture is worth every penny!

Our hound wasn’t that interested in this for a few weeks. We would give it to her then take it away as soon as she stopped chewing it, which was only for a few minutes. I think this actually made her hold her interest - that it didn’t just get thrown into the box of other toys, but was something special.After a few weeks of this she finally got into the marrow part and has maybe eaten an inch off the end. She still doesn’t get to keep it - when she’s done, or when we decide to take it, it goes out of reach.It’s really tough and is going to last a long time, and now that she’s gotten into it her chewing sessions last 10+ minutes before she’s distracted by something else (she’s a young dog).

This is the only antler I have found to last more than a few minutes for my dog. She is a blue heeler/australian shepherd mix and can be an aggressive chewer when she is in the mood. All other antlers I have tried including ones you buy from your local pet store have only lasted max a few days while this will last her a few months even with daily chewing. Would highly recommend to a dog that is a hard chewer.

Title says it all. My dog loves this. Lasts longer than rawhides. Made his gums bleed at first, but I only let him have it for half an hour at a time until his teeth got used to it. Took about a week. Now he just picks it up whenever he is bored. Had it for about two months and he is about 2/3rds done with it. To compare, my dog can destroy a rawhide bone in ten minutes. This is great and I don't have to watch him use it like I do with rawhides so he doesn't choke.

Not exactly "large". Or rather, it's at least not exactly for large dogs. I have a large mutt who's around the size of a lab. She did really enjoy chewing on this, but it got too small too quickly. She probably chewed away only 1/3 of it before I determined it was too small now and a hazard. That being said, I would suggest this for smaller dogs! Maybe around 40 lbs.. but for a large dog, it was just too small to feel safe.

Love the Kong antlers. My Boston Terriers go crazy for them, and they entertain them for such a long time. These are also the most economical antler on the market by quality! I've gotten softer antlers in the past that my dogs would chew up in under an hour. These last weeks. My biggest piece of advice is to closely monitor your dog when they have these, ESPECIALLY when they get chewed down into a small stump.We regularly order these, about two a month. The sizes and shapes that you'll get vary, but they're all in the same ballpark.

My pooch loves this. I prefer it for its natural properties instead of plastic chews that can get ingested and potentially cause problems.
