Village Wrought Iron54 Inch Lawn Hose Holder

I bought this to hold a 50ft. 5/8" rubber garden hose. My main shopping criteria were to find something US-made (this is from NY state) that was attractive, and to avoid anything that looked over-engineered. Basic wrought iron appealed to me because, while I am not interested in rustic/"farmhouse" decor, it would fit the character of my house better than the ornate faux-Victorian wrought iron hose stands that are also on the market. It is a nice match if your house has any early-/mid-20th century wrought iron or aluminum, as my house does.The hose holder has a reassuring heft and the twist gives it a nice extra aesthetic touch, though I understand from their website that newer ones are straight. It looks attractive without screaming out for your attention, and from a functional standpoint it hasn't developed a lean or wiggled out of the ground under the weight of my hose. I haven't owned it long enough to see how it will hold up through multiple seasons but the finish didn't have any obvious rust spots or other flaws out of the box. All in all, I am very pleased with it so far.

This item didn't work for me. The hose caddy is a heavy-duty wrought-iron single piece, so one must be sure to place the base deeply into the ground. Even though I did so, the caddy fell to one side or the other under with the weight of the hose. Perhaps it's the type of soil we have here in south central Texas, but the caddy did not fulfill my need. It also appeared this item had been opened and resealed, and perhaps previously returned.

When the item arrived, I honestly didn't think the product would work. It's just a straight metal stick. I thought it would have some kind of prong situation so it wouldn't list to the side. My soil was nice and moist and I had a rubber mallet and made sure that it was firmly seated into the soil. We use it regular and roughly. It's stayed perfectly in place and it's done nothing but rain for months. Color me surprised and impressed. Looks pretty as well.

I have ordered this item twice. The first time I received a twin bed frame in lieu of the hose holder. The hose holder finally arrived and it is bent. I thought I might try one more time and now the price has gone up $10. Buying a hose holder shouldn't be this hard!

Nice sturdy iron but the spike is too blunt to get into the ground, you need a lot of elbow grease even with hydrating the dirt before doing so. Now mine just leans crooked with my 100-foot hose fully on it because it can't anchor I to the dirt enough to support a longer hose.

This is a nice quality hose holder that keeps the hose off the ground. I prefer this to the bulky hose reels or the plastic hose storage options.We have a good sized yard with faucets around the yard and this looks good too.

Great for light weight hoses. Not sturdy for heavy duty.

It is well made, but because it doesn't have a bottom hook to wrap your hose, it is difficult to place and keep your hose in the hook. Would not recommend this purchase. No problem with seller, just don't like the product.
