**Q: Do the stones need to be frozen?**
A: As I understand the purpose of the stones, it is to cool a drink without adding water since some people prefer their drinks "neat" (I'm one). So yes- even though some spirits (bourbon for example) improve with a few drops of water, the stones are frozen for their cooling effect
