I've been riding for thirty years and I've worn out more than a dozen bicycle shorts. Some were good and I tried to hang on to them for as long as I could but eventually the padding goes away and they lose their elasticity. It's always hard to find good shorts right out of the box. Trying to replace worn out pairs you often find they're not available anymore. The technology moves on. As soon as I put these on and rode fifteen K...I knew they'd be great. They fit well, don't chafe, have enough padding and they're light enough for long hot rides. I'd buy them again. in fact, maybe I will.

From Cycling Shorts to Riding Bib
Take it from someone who began riding a road bike this summer, learning everything about this sport. NO ONE HAD TOLD ME I needed padded shorts to begin with, so I took the pain of the first 100km.Then I found out how useful padded shorts were! But it wasn't until a few hundred more KM that I found out that the real trick was a riding bib and these Gorewear bibs are fantastic. I did my first ride in them as a 100km and I could barely feel anything until the last stretch.This is coming from a relatively new road cyclist who upgraded from cheap amazon shorts to this nice bib. You will love the suspension comfort on the shoulder as opposed to the waist. I found the pad is of a higher quality and even the material feels great.I would maybe go up one size as I have larger quads from weight training, but other than that I am pleased.
