Great buy!
We’re in the process of teaching sight words. This book is great and my 3yr old loves it. It helps that he enjoyed watching Daniel the Tiger. If your little one is starting to read, these books are a good buy. The stories are good and the Q&A at the end helps with recollection.

Overall Good Book, Some Guidance For Kiddos Needed In My Opinion
This was a book I bought for my beautiful little boy, who has many struggles in his life, including accepting new books. But since I've recently discovered he's more willing to accept new books if they closely follow plots of his favorite shows, movies, etc. I bought a large stack of items, this one included, as part of a larger campaign to work on this as a therapeutic goal. What I like about this book is that the sentences are simple, because our handsome little dude has a short attention span. I also really like it that the thing in here that scares O the owl and Daniel is a loud noise, because those frequently scare our little man too, and I can see that having value for kiddos with sensory issues because those with sound sensitivity can relate to that. And he loves Daniel Tiger, so that's a huge plus. He's at present only willing to give this book sideways stink eye, but I'm pretty hopeful we'll get acceptance for this. I'm playing up the similarities between his fear of noise and theirs, and we'll get there eventually. Why I'm not rating this a 5 star book is the technique they recommend to combat fear: thinking of something happy. Ok, that's not terrible, but there are times when you want a child to run if they are scared because there is an actual physical danger present, and no amount of stopping and thinking happy thoughts is going to help your kiddos in those situations. I know this is a book designed as an early reader, but I still think throwing in a couple of pages about differentiating between the two would have been a good idea. Though for our son, who has some very strong, visceral reactions to things, I'm not sure I'm going to be able to convince him that thinking happy is any form of help any time soon. He's got that running part down for everything as his primary response (and no, we didn't encourage that or even suggest it, he just goes straight to fight or flight), including loud noises. I've had plenty of practice chasing him down to attest to that ;)Overall, this is a cute, well done book. I just think it may need some additional parent guidance on when to think happy and when to run like mad.
