ZoomF2 Lavalier Body-Pack Compact Recorder, 32-Bit Float Recording, No Clipping, Audio for Video, Records to SD, and Battery Powered with Included Lavalier Microphone

I use this for wedding videography, it's a great little recorder that gets the job done. love the 32bit float and the option to fix the audio further in post. would refer this to others and highly recommend for wedding usage. Microphone isn't the best but the recorder is compact and light. upgrade your microphone and everything is amazing.

The sound quality of the recorder is extremely accurate, very good quality and an excellent value and it will serve the needs of everybody and anybody. The Lav mic which is included with the recorder is OK, but I think there are better mics out there (for the money), while this mic will serve the needs of many, it's acceptable for the price but you can do better if you're willing to spend the money, and if your needs are demanding. The user interface is good, but just a bit complicated, while the directions are good, these directions are unique, and you may have a couple false starts when you start to use this. Once you understand what to do and what not to do, you will be pleased with the interface, and will get the outstanding results that people have come to expect out of zoom products.

I’ve had this for several months and I pretty much gave up on it.As several others have mention the recorder sometimes didn’t save the files. This was a nightmare and made working with it impossible.That was until I stumbled upon the solution: use 32gb micro SDs…. I don’t know why but ever since I started using 32gb recorders instead of 64 the recorder has worked flawlessly.Don’t know how many of you run into the same issue but apparently that is the solution.

I have a YouTube channel called An American Entrepreneur. I have been struggling with the audio portion of my videos. I have an H6 recorder, there have been times it did not record or I forgot to set the gain and ended up with bad audio. This little F2 is simple, compact and very reliable. My first purchase was 2, and I have just placed an order for 2 additional as backup.

I was expecting broadcast quality audio. That is not the case -- the inexpensive lav yields muddy sound. I tried plugging in a higher quality lav, but the unit will only record with its native mic. The unit is a disappointment.

After 29 years of production was really hard to give up being able to monitor while recording...I use basically as a nagra so un-nerving to hit record and walk away...of course I record a scratch track on camera side but unusable for edit so have to really trust this little guy.Mic that comes with...a little big and meh...ok sound...but I would buy more of these without hesitation....small trick after years of clapboards or smart slates, just ingest all files, use scratch track and this 32bit float and view waveform....then just align visually and BOOM synced.

I wanted to like this product having owned 4 (four) H2N Zoom field recorders which I've used over the past 8 years. Bought it to slim down lav mic attachments to belts, etc. BUT -- the inability to adjust the GAIN setting is really detracting. EVERY SINGLE RECORDING I have made with this has left me with recording levels that ARE SO LOW that, even in post, I cannot raise them to an acceptable level. Very disappointing. I've had to re-record videos where this mic was the audio source. Zoom knows about the problem but has no firmware fix. Amazon won't let me return it. UPDATE: ADORAMA, THE SELLER will not allow a return. I've taken the mic out of my kit, tossed it and will never purchase anything from Adorama again despite thousands of dollars of past camera gear purchases. Zoom -- why did you decide to remove GAIN control? Makes no sense. Ridiculous. Do not buy this mic. UPDATE: Replaced with DJI Mic. Works perfectly and is now my go-to lav style mic set up. Shame I had to spend so many extra $$ to find out how useless was the Zoom F2. And shame on Adorama for refusing a refund despite a documented (around the web) problematic product.

I own a Zoom F2 and a Tascam DR-10L. Both recorders are excellent and have there stand out features. What I like most about the Zoom F2 is how simple it is to use. Straight out of the box you're basically up and running.The controls on the front of the unit all make sense, are easy to use, and the recording quality is excellent.This is the unit I attach to guests of our podcast because it requires the least monitoring or adjustment.

Recived the box. Everything was fine but AAA batteries were not there. It's the case, when it is written that you spoosuled to get batteries.

Es bastante pequeña, cabe sin problema en el bolsillo del saco o el pantalón al momento de colocarlo al novio (bodas). No es necesario hacer ajustes de ganancia, sólo das grabar y listo! Las baterías le aguantan todo un día, sin problema. Muy recomendado.

This is a great product that is so easy to use and reliably gets clean audio. In situations where you can't reasonably monitor audio, this is the best option you have to get great audio.Only little complaint, it would have benefitted extremely from a battery indicator. Just having a single light isn't enough to accurately know how much battery is left before recording. I feel that was an unfortunate shortcoming on an otherwise wonderful product.
