Q: Do you need to wet the poles to encourage wrapping?

Not really! You can wrap string of your plant. You need to wet pole when you watering them.

Q: I really need a stake/pole for my Monstera but im afraid it wont work since the leaves are drooping and growing outwards. Anyone else tried this?

It works great for monstera, mine has grow into and around the pole :) She’s about 5 feet tall now with at least five poles stacked just make sure to secure them into eachother with some hot glue
