Sangean SR-35 AM/FM Analog Pocket Radio

I received my radio on December 10th, 2018 and I love it, The radio takes two AA batteries and they seem to last forever. The battery compartment door is attached to the radio so there is no chance of losing it when replacing the batteries. I am still using the first pair of batteries that I put in when I got the radio The radio's dimensions are: 4.92 inches high, 2.76 inches in width and 1.26 in depth. The radio comes with a wrist strap and a user manual. On the right side of the radio is the tuning dial and the AM/FM switch and on the left side is volume dial which is also the on/off dial. On the bottom left is the headphone jack. The radio has a very nice antenna that also swivels and it also folds nicely into the back of the radio when not in use. The sound from the radio is the best that I have ever heard from a portable radio. FM sounds especially good with the antenna extended, AM sounds great as well. The radio is able to pick up a lot of stations that other radios can't pick up. The radio is very lightweight and has nice round corners which make it easy to carry in a shirt or jacket pocket. If you are looking for a portable radio perhaps one to have when the power goes out and you need to hear weather reports or you just want a radio to listen to while out for a walk, then this is the radio for you. I give it 5/5 and I highly recommend this radio to anyone that is looking for a high quality radio.

Just buy it. Otherwise you can't imagine it. Editing after 1 yr 6 months: it has strong reception power which is far far better than any big size radio in India. Its sound is not like ordinary radio rather like a smartphone sound or home theater's sound. I bought it @ 2800/- for its sound quality.

I collect small "pocket" radios, and I have a dozen of them. This Sangean SR-35 is unquestionably the best pocket radio on the market today. The 2.5 inch speaker has such a deep and rich sound, if you closed your eyes you would think you were listening to a larger table top radio with a 4 inch speaker. Every station on the FM and AM dial is received just as clearly as they come in on my larger and more expensive radios. Even comparing this Sangean SR-35 against the most highly regarded pocket radio on the market today... the C Crane Pocket Radio (which, at $75, costs TWICE as much as the $33 to $39 Sangean SR-35), the Sangean SR-35 provides far superior speaker sound, from a larger speaker, and reception ability that is approximately equal to that of the C Crane Pocket Radio. To be fair, all of C Crane's radios are actually also made by Sangean, and rebranded as C Crane., and it should be understood that the C Crane Pocket Radio is meant to be listen to using earphones rather than its small speaker, and the C Crane receives Weather Band while the Sangean SR-35 only receives AM & FM. The "High End" pocket radio market used to be dominated by SONY... we all remember the SONY "Walkman" series of portable and pocket radios, and their quality could not be beaten back in the 1980's and 1990's. Sadly, SONY exited the pocket radio market very recently, and Sangean has stepped in as the clear leader in quality. Do not be turned off by the fact that this Sangean SR-35 has an old style analog tuning dial... it has the SAME DSP (digital signal processing) chip inside that digital tuner radios have... but Sangean uses the analog tuning dial on this model to improve battery life, and to reduce interference of radio reception caused by digital tuning screens. On tiny pocket radios... analog dials are actually the way to go for maximum performance.
