I almost did not buy this product because there were several comments that the spindle was difficult to compress. However, a slight counterclockwise twist compresses the spring coils, making it easy to move the two-parts of the spindle together. If you just compress the spindle without twisting, the coils of the spring enlarge causing the assembly to jam.I bought the black version, and am very pleased with the finish. This is a great product at a very reasonable price.It is bit difficult to tighten the set screw in a tight space, such as between my water closet and bathtub. But at a youthful 69 years old and over 6 feet tall, I did not expect that to be easy.

We bought this to install in our master bath, and it's near perfect. It's really sturdy, and the paint doesn't chip. The only non-perfect thing is we might have installed the sides a millimeter too close because it's somewhat tight to remove the middle rod to refill TP. But we manage! The installation was really easy, as it came with this paper that you tape to the wall, and you use that to drill hole markers through, and then remove the paper and continue the installation with perfectly spaced marked holes. I thought it was really smart of them to provide that.

Even the roller for the toilet paper is made of metal, with a concentric spring-loaded design to fit between the metal posts. Mounting was straightforward, using a metal flange mounted to the nearby cabinet by a single nut/bolt. The flange uses an inside groove on the the posts to retain the post tightly to the mounting surface. The fit is secured with a nearly invisible, recessed hex nut that extends into the metal flange to ensure grip. A small hex wrench is included. Product is highly recommended, both for design and appearance. It looks good!

I got a heck of a deal on this so I bought it. It was easy to put together and took less than 10 minutes. Exactly what I needed and looks great in my bathroom.

Right after I installed it on the wall, I noticed that the template which should help you to drill the holes in the right spot are much too close. So I needed to redo it.Then I wanted to put a toilet roll on the holder and sadly noticed that you can't press it together to get the roll holder between the holder for the roll holder. And since it is just a struggle to get it of the holder and I missed to send it back on time there is no other chance to throw it in the trash. I don't know why 6 out of 10 orders at Amazon are just crap the past year. But unfortunately this toilet paper holder wasn't the cheapest one.

Nothing wrong just doesn't fit where I need it :(. Hopefully I can still return it

I really liked how this looked and it was easy to install. BUT if you use any thicker rolls of TP it will not work. So if you are one to use one ply TP this might work out ok for you.When trying to return the product Amazon just said to keep it.
