I love these jars! I use them to store sourdough starter in the refriderator. Anyone that works with starter knows it can easily overflow which makes a huge mess. These containers close tightly, especially with the glass top that uses the medal clips. They clean up nice too. The size is a little large for what I need, but they would work well for storing dry items like beans. The glass is thick so they don't easily break, something I need. Great product and quality.

Very nice glass jars!
Got these for sourdough starter maintenance. They look nice and work great, simple and easy to clean with soapy water, don’t actually use the seals but it came with both rubber and cork seals. Far prefer using these to ball or mason jars, the wide neck makes filling, stirring and dumping these nice and easy. Can just dump flour or water from small measuring cups right in, or fit a hand in to wash them out. If you’re dabbling in sourdough, these make starter maintenance nice to do.

Easy to Clean. Sour Dough Friendly
I really had no clue what the big deal was with the Weck jars. But, after years of fighting with jars that were just hard to clean out, I get the hype now. It comes with a rubber to seal the lid or a wood lid altogether for items you are wanting to securely store. If you have sour dough starter it’s great for transferring dough, feeding & maintenance. I can’t rave about this item enough.

Don’t look further don’t be tempted to buy kits with other jars I’m trying to save you!
I wish I knew about these before I started buying so many recommended jars & kits w/jars just taking up space right now. These were not recommended which leaves me scratching my head these are the BEST HANDS DOWN for sourdough starter the size is perfect great quality only my lids were chipped upon arrival but I can use them just fine as the chips are on the inner topside not affecting air. I’m not sure if two aluminum clamps and a rubber rig really keep out all the air out but I must trust with these trust is easy. Even with cling wrap and lid keeps my starter just fine. If you’re a beginner look no further than these don’t get caught up in the kits unless it’s with these I had deep bruises and even mixing cuts with every jar they recommend they look classic so easy and pain free to mix, the price for these priceless!! I prefer a very thick starter and my hand could not hang w/other jars I looked like a prize fighter that forgot the gloves for real and for many days which get compounded when have to get your starter going through feeds because some choose twice a day but you must repeat what tore up your hand repeatedly just not worth torn up hands on top of the 48 hr process of making loaves buy these and be done you don’t even need a mixing stick I find it cleaner and much easier to use a dinner knife to mix and metal and plastic won’t ruin your hard work I recommend getting rubber bannetons not the corded they ruin your loaf after all your hard work and you can use oil to line your plastic much better than flour or rice flour. Just buy these you’ll thank me if you ever experience another jar.
