TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Protectant Spray for Hair 8 oz

Great thermal protection spray! I purchased this as an add on to use with my John Frieda Salon Shape 1.5 Inch Hot Air Brush (that I love!) I am not expert in the areas of thermal protection sprays - I never used a flat iron - I pretty much gave up hope after the 80's ended. I will admit that I am not a fan of the TRESemme hair sprays because the boyfriend uses those & I hate the smell of those. I was very pleasantly surprised with the smell of this TRESemme product! It's very nice! It worked like a charm too. I use it when my hair is 80 percent dry before using my hot air brush, and I also use it for when I blow dry my hair "dry" (second or third day / no shampoo days) to protect it from the heat on my dry hair. Again, works like a charm! My hair is well protected from using heat & it is a great styling aid. I've used it to "fix" areas that I messed up along the way by spraying over again lightly. One reviewer said it isn't necessary to spend a lot of money on products like this. I wouldn't know from past experience but I certainly don't plan on it. I can see why it is so highly rated! It works great!

I gave this a shot to help protect my hair from hot ironing due to the positive reviews. It does seem to help prevent my hair from frying and give it a smoother, shinier look. I have long, foofy, porous hair, and apply much more to the older hair near the ends. This spray is lightweight, doesn't load down my hair or make it look greasy, and doesn't stink like rancid fruit like so many other hair products, which I appreciate. Whatever scent there is fades pretty quickly. I have purchased two bottles on different occasions, and the "lock" on each sprayer was different, although both are located on the neck of the sprayer, one of which wasn't obviously apparent to me when I first got it. The packaging has not proven great for travel, as no matter how carefully packed, the bottle has leaked, albeit into the freezer bag I packed it in - still, a pain. I resolved this by picking up an aluminum mister I saw at the container store, which has worked perfectly for me (although some reviewers seem to have had issues). In the end, I like the product, the packaging not so much, but at least the extra step saves a little space when I travel.

Great product, I have used for years.

This spray has reduced the damage a LOT. It doesn't leave behind any oily or hard, hairspray-like residue. Only a good smell and silky hair. I would recommend this to anyone. It's not expensive or half-filled like some products are. The bottle is full when you open the package. So far, I have used it three times and I can already see this bottle will last me a good couple of months. The spray nozzle lets out a steady mist, covering my hair in the expected places. The only thing about the product that I found negative was the price. In my hometown, you can get the same size bottle of this stuff for a little cheaper. But all-in-all, DEFINITELY worth it!:)

I use this on the ends to help protect them before I blow dry or curl them. I also use it at night as a setting spray if I'm going to roll my hair up in a sock bun to preserve my silky smooth blow out and give me a nice flip out on the ends. I wake up in the morning, unroll my sock and have smooth pretty hair, ready to go. When I don't use this on the ends my hair doesn't come out with any flip to it, just more of a wimpy bend. I'm happy that I can use this for heat free styling like my sock bun as well as heat styling to protect and give silky shine. Good stuff. Great price.

I have used a few heat protectants and because of all the positive reviews I chose to give this one a shot. Having high expectations I was surprised at how water based this is. Despite what the instructions on the bottle say, this can’t be use directly with heat styling tools. You will have to spray and wait for it to dry or blow dry your hair. I do not blow dry so I’ve been spraying it on after I wash and letting it dry altogether. This makes this product less than ideal for touching up or adjusting with heat styling tools. For example, if you have flat-ironed your hair and want to curl the ends but have the kind of hair that curls when wet, this would not be a good option for the task at hand. Another issue I’ve had with the product is that if you do not shake the bottle before you use it it seems that the ingredients separate and you may end up spraying what seems like just water or ,on the flip side, too much product into your hair which explains why some of the negative reviews call the product watery while others claim it is too heavy. All of this being said, if you have a one step process, shake the bottle before using, and don’t over spray, the product seems to work fine as a heat protectant and it makes the hair feel “silky.” Overall I don’t think that I’ll be using this product again as I’m looking for something a bit more versatile.
