Q: I need something to clear roots from 3" irrigation drains. Not a lot of roots, will this work and accept auger attachments?

This does not accept auger attachments. And in my opinion, having used it on my interior drains, it would not be suitable for that purpose. Sorry.

Q: Is this the best option for clogged bathroom/kitchen sinks? If not, what are some other options? Thanks in advance.

It's a start, once a drain is clogged, I haven't found any chemicals (e.g. Drano) that will clear it. May just be a clogged trap but you have to remove that anyway on a sink to use this properly.

Q: How do you reel the snake back into the case? Do you have to push it back in?

You just push it back in I use a rag so it helps clean the cable as well really simple

Q: The drill does not attach to the drainx. As it's adapter is smooth and round. Every drill is not. How does it attach?

You open up your drill chuck, insert the drill into the center post. Then tighten the Chuck. Hold the drill with your right hand and the auger with your left hand(or vice versa depending on what dominating hand you have) Let out enough snake to get most of the way to the clog then gently while holding we auger Press the drill for a few seconds, then stop. Then let out a little more snake, tighten up the snake hold onto the augerAnd press the drill for a few more seconds. Keep repeating until you have reached and cleared the clog. Once you have done this and just reverse the procedure. It should work like a dream
