CrossClassic Century Colours, Ballpoint Pen, Gold Dust (AT0082-10)

I have had a Cross gold dust pen for years. I loved it: it was very attractive and was of great quality. I recently lost it on a business trip. I looked on the Cross web site to reorder and didn't see it. I called the Cross headquarters in Rhode Island and the representative said that they no longer make this pen. So I searched on line and found a few vendors selling it. I ordered one. It was delivered promptly. When I opened the package I was quite surprised: the box and color of the pen were of greatly inferior quality to the one I had owned....and it stated that it was made in China. It didn't eveninclude the Cross guarantee that my other Cross pens all had. I contacted the vendor, who promptly researched for me whether the pen was a counterfeit. Apparently Cross pens are now made in China....very disappointing. I checked the Cross web site and they make no mention of that fact. Indeed, they tout their New England origins and would lead one to believe that they are still made in the USA. The previous one had a beautiful gold dust color to it. This new one has a very pale hue that would best be described as cream color. I would never buy it as a gift. Time will tell whether the pen works as well as the previous one. I am so disappointed.

It looks darker in the picture. It's a VERY light gold, almost a frost white.

Beautiful pen. Exactly what I was looking for. Was delivered quickly in excellent condition.
