A great way to use "Shucked" drives internally.
"Shucking" is the process of buying cheap external hard drives and removing them from their "Shell". Hard drive manufacturers do not care for this process. Many of the current external drives have been switched over the a USB interface that is soldered onto the circuit board. For those that have a more conventional interface with SATA, they have create a 3.3 volt system. 3.3 volts was a common voltage used within computers and it included in the SATA power interface, however, the hard drives do not need it. So manufacturers "sense" 3.3 volts, they know that the drive has been shucked and it is therefore rendered inop for as long as it senses 3.3 volts. This adapter comes from the 4 line "Molex" connector. It only has 12 volts, 5 volts and two grounds. No 3.3 volts. Any hard drive plugged in will not receive 3.3 and therefore will work in a PC or server.

I have no idea what's most important to know about this product...
Seriously, I don't. What I do know is I have a rack-mount system that I only had a 4-pin Molex to 2x SATA power adapter and I was adding 2 more drives via another bracket. I only needed 4 more SATA power connectors, but I think this worked out for the best as the extra cabling provided a bit of slack. The wire is decently thick gauge and mostly stays bent however you set it. I was able to route the cabling and plug in all 4 drives easily.

A Must Have If Cable Management is Important
This item worked great in a computer tower with all 5 hard drives mounted in their appropriate inline positions. It drops the time of cable management for a clean looking system.

Cheap Molex Crimps
Has the typical cheap Molex Crimps that can easily be pushed out the back of the connector when plugging it in. Rest of the cable seems nice.

Useful power adapter
Useful little power adapter. Works great for my needs. I just wish the cables used were a bit more flexible - it can be a bit challenging to plug into some stacked 2.5" drives

Buy something from a reputable brand!
FIRE HAZARD/MAY DESTROY HARDWARE. No idea what happened but like a few other reviews said, this IMMEDIATELY cooked 2 hard drives I had just confirmed that day were still working. One of them started getting so hot I could smell it and couldn't touch it long enough to unplug it. Had to flip the PSU switch. I assume there's some incorrect wiring with this.
