Well engineered table at a great price...
I have been searching for a well engineered adjustable glass top drawing table for a couple of months... reading many reviews on different manufactured drafting/drawing tables, and the one consistent company that was always on top of many reviews I read was the "Studio Designs" drafting/drawing tables. Like some of the other reviewers here, I was going to purchase the economically priced Studio Designs "Futura Craft Table"... which I was totally fine with... but... when I found out about the "Tower" model, I started to think about the type of artwork I do. I use a lot of historical reference materials in my professional artwork, and was always having trouble keeping this material from cluttering up my work space... but still trying to keep the materials close enough to see all the fine details clearly, which was a constant frustration... but... with the added tower to the Futura table, and the attached cork board and the added magnates... this solved the problem for me by helping to hold all of my reference materials up and away from my work space, but still keeping them close enough to see all the fine details I require... It then became obviously clear to me, I had to purchase the Studio Designs Futura Tower model. The table arrived in a couple of days after I ordered it.(That's amazing in itself!) The box the table came in, was also well engineered to keep the glass table and all it's parts, secured from possible shipping damage. Again, another fine attention to detail from this company. After inspecting all it's parts... the assembly of the table was pretty straight forward... (except for the drawer assembly). The pictures isn't very clear in the instructions on how the "sliders" for the drawer are to be attached correctly. Just remember that the black plastic ends to the sliders... goes toward the front of the table... and you'll be fine. The whole assembly took less than a couple of hours to complete. This table is very stable... doesn't shake or shimmy when working on it. I can also imagine adding small lights to the bottom of the glass table top, turning it into a cool light box... I also ordered A set of leg extensions for this table.(A very simple extra accessory attachment) The table, by itself, is great to work with, straight out of the box... but... I work from 6 to 8 hours a day... and being over 6 feet tall and sitting that long at a desk... I just need to stand sometimes and stretch my back and legs, while still continuing to work. The leg extensions accomplishes this task by raising the table about 6 inches higher... so I can actually stand and continue to work comfortably at the table. Overall, I think that the "Studio Designs Futura Tower" adjustable glass top drafting/drawing table, is a great value for the money. The craftsmanship that went into the design of this table... is top rate. Everything is where it should be and it works. From the powder coated paint to the heavy tempered glass... even to the cork board... it just works. Anyone who's been looking for a great adjustable glass top drafting/drawing table... you really should check out and look into the Studio Designs products, before making any final decisions on what table to buy. I'm very pleased with the decision I made with this table... it's made my life a little easier... a heck of a lot more comfortable... and worth every penny! I just wished I could've done this a whole lot sooner...

I assembled it without help. It's really, really beautiful, sturdy and functional. I love it!
The instructions are entirely in pictures with corresponding parts numbers. It's very important to inventory all parts and screws. It will help you if you have individual zip lock bags for each type of screw and nut. I thought I had, but 4 big screws were missing. The screws that hold the glass top. So, in the middle of installation I made a trip to the hardware store. My challenge was trying figure out how to assemble the drawers, but I finally figured it out. The instruction are vague. The crossbars in the back can be a little confusing so take your time until you absolutely understand and they fit perfectly. It took me about 7 hours, with breaks to totally assemble the table. . I didn't rush. I enjoyed each step of my progress. The glass top and shelf are a beautiful blue color. Really thick glass! I didn't expect it to be that thick and was really happy to see this. It's very sturdy. The packaging was exceptional. When you unpack, the tools, frame parts are on one side, the glass is on the other size. At first I thought, where's the glass? I turned the box over and the glass was on the other side. I suggest that you read all the comments before putting this together. I learned about possible challenging areas and this helped me assemble this. This has been by far my favorite purchase from Amazon!

An AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, and PERFECT art desk!
This art table far exceeds my already high expectations based on prior reviews and my research. It's much sturdier than I expected, especially the glass shelf. It is really quite beautiful with the blue glass accents. The only visual flaw are the oddly placed circular cup holders, off-center, in an oval shaped space. Considering the quality and design of the rest of the desk, this actually surprises me. The cup holders were also the only part of assembly that caused me quite a bit of confusion, as there is NO REASON that I can deduct for the placement of the first nut. I assembled the desk by myself (so it can be done, it's just a little tricky in the initial stages). I did a full inventory of parts and was highly organized before I began assembly, and it took several hours to construct. I was somehow missing one screw, but for the corkboard mount, probably the only area where a missing screw is easily replaced by a hardware store version. So BE SURE TO COUNT YOUR NUTS & BOLTS (just in case). The directions are straightforward pictures... With some common sense mixed in. I've honestly never assembled a piece of furniture without issues with holes not lining up properly or pieces not being "punched" precisely... Until this desk. I was quite impressed by this. This desk is STURDY, with so many unique and functional features. The workspace is generous, but not overly large. I'm using the desk in my home art studio, and it fits quite nicely in a very small home studio. Without leg extensions, I'm still in need of a higher chair than a standard 18" height "dining room" chair. I ordered an inexpensive Boss task chair that will hopefully over just enough lift to still able my feet to be planted in the ground. I did purchase the leg extensions, so that I can convert the desk later if desired. I draw/paint and I use water soluble pencils quite frequently, so I wasn't planning to use the tabletop lift much. WASN'T. The tabletop lift at varying angles is actually one of my favorite parts about the desk. This desk is in high demand for a reason. It is by no stretch of the imagination an absolutely perfect desk: Storage space, multifunctional work surface, compact, and aesthetically so very pleasing to the eye... I had my eye on this desk for a couple of months before I purchased it. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an art table. It is everything everyone says it is/raves about in their reviews... and more...

Great modular table for the price!
This is a fantastic table and it transforms the corner where we have it set up. It took my wife and I about 30 minutes to assemble it. Just take your time, follow the directions, and make sure you are using the right pieces in the right places. Otherwise, you will almost definitely run into trouble! The drafting table can go on either side (left or right), but you will have to do some mental juggling as the default instructions place it onto one side only. Assembly aside, the package arrived in one piece and none of the glass panels were broken upon opening the box! The quality of the metal legs and components is great. The glass is heavy and sturdy. There are warning stickers on the glass stating that they are only rated to hold something like 20lbs, but it seems like that is there simply to cover the manufacturer in case someone breaks the glass by stacking barbells onto the tabletop. We have a heavy 26" LCD computer monitor on the middle glass panel and that is supported just fine. Just use your own judgement. Also, try not to drop anything onto the table! The drafting component works wonderfully. I would have liked for the pencil tray to be a touch larger, but the angles available are more than sufficient for basic drafting work (especially given the budget friendly price [under $200]). Another nice addition would be a light, but we solved that with a simple clip-on lamp! Overall I cannot recommend this table enough. It is good quality, looks fantastic, convenient (with Amazon Prime shipping it straight to our door in one piece), and it has excellent utility with the drafting section.

Great Product
This is just what I've wanted for a work desk. I decided to look into a desk with a glass top (for inking with printmaking) and a drafting section for doing watercolor painting. So this was perfect. Overall I am very satisfied with the product itself. The glass is fairly thick and is tempered and the metal is pretty sturdy and it's tall enough that my chair slides under so I can pull my body up to the work surface if I want. I do have a few minor complaints, though they aren't really with the item itself. First, I thought I had read somewhere in previous reviews that the weight limit was 45lbs (though I don't think I read anywhere in the specs about weight limit). But at the time I thought "45lbs is pretty good!" Unfortunately when I opened the product, the paperwork said 25lbs. Along with this, I thought I had read in the reviews that the flat section and the drafting section could be switched to either side depending on where you wanted it. I found out this was not the case. The drafting section goes on the left and the flat goes on the right. A bummer, but again, not an issue with the product itself, really, just impressions I got that turned out to be not so. The other issue was with shipping. When I received the desk, the glass was packed in a separate box within the larger box. 2 of the slabs were fine, one had shattered in a million pieces. I was surprised in a way, no other reviews I read on this product mentioned anything about trouble with shipping and breaking so I was fairly confident it would be okay. Of course, this, too, is not an issue with the product (the glass is nice stuff), but I did notice nowhere on the outside was the larger box labeled as fragile. This seemed illogical, and at that point I couldn't really blame UPS (even if the box was fairly banged up when it arrive). How do they know it's glass if the box isn't marked? Thus I figure that is the shipper's fault. The box should really have been marked as fragile. Luckily I called Studio Design and they are sending me not only one but two new pieces (I wasn't sure at the time if I was missing the drafting glass piece or the other flat top piece). I was pleased they offered to just send me both at no charge. However, I was told two shipping days; I ordered Monday, this is Saturday, and I still have not received my glass. Still, as long as I get it soon, I'll be happy. The only other issue I had were the instructions. There are no words, just pictures. It's fairly easy to understand except for one thing: some pieces of the desk look just like others except for tiny differences, like holes being on one side instead of the other. The pictures didn't always emphasize those distinctions, and the pieces look like they fit as you are going along (which makes you think you are doing it right) so if there are no words to let you know to watch out for those differences, it's easy to put some pieces on backwards or with a detail facing the wrong direction and you may not realize it's wrong until eventually a hole doesn't line up or something ends up not fitting just right. Unfortunately I had a few things backwards and ended up frustrated because the picture was showing I should have had holes where I was seeing no holes. It took me a good 20+ minutes of studying all the pieces to figure out for myself that some other part was backwards. And after going back over the first few steps, I really felt like the instructions could have just mentioned "Be sure X holes are pointed in Y direction" or "This piece must have Z bracket on the A side." Yea, words would have helped. Other than that, I love the desk and as soon as I get the other glass I will be even happier. Overall, I would definitely recommend this item to anyone looking for a comfortable (and spacious) work space + drafting table.

Great product, and a few minor concerns
The table is a good quality artist's table, suitable for crafters and college studio artists. The work surface was somewhat smaller than expected, although that's my fault for not laying out the dimensions. The table was quite difficult to assemble. The instructions are not well written, and it takes some effort to hold things together and screw in the joints with an allen wrench. It's essential to have a second person to help you assemble the unit. I'm also not completely satisfied with the assembled table: The glass is held onto the base by suction cups, which have so far proven stable, but do concern me. A real problem with my unit is that glass of the curved portion (between the two main work surfaces) does not sit down on the suction cups fully. So, while it is resting in the frame and stuck onto the suction cups on the one side, it rocks and pops loose of the suction ups if you put any weight on the curved outer portion. I actually had to bend the curved support up to improve the situation, but was unable to completely solve the problem. EDIT: The company sent me a replacement bar, when requested, to fix the problem mentioned above. I'll also warn you about the glass: It has a sticker on it that indicates you cannot put more than 45lbs of weight on the tabletop. I guess that's the nature of glass, but I wasn't happy to see that. And the sticker will not come off cleanly, so I'm going to either have to leave it or get some goof off. The table is otherwise sturdy and well made. Without the cross-beam supports on the legs, they would rock, so be sure to join them on. One other reviewer said he left them off, which is not a good idea. The table also comes with self-leveling feet, which would be handy on a hard surface. I put the table on carpet, so I don't need to use them. However, I'm going to purchase another unit, because I like the table and work surface despite its few problems.

Great desk for Student (Ive had this desk for years)
Bought this desk in 2014, and with 3 years gone by (going on 4) , this desk is going pretty strong. As a student, I bought this desk originally to have a space in my room to draw and have a computer space without buying two seperate desks. Its especially helpful for arts and crafts, and if you have it in the corner of the room, the corner is a great place to have a tv or large computer moniter. So great for studying, having a computer, and still enough room for all of those art projects. A few things: -I've rearranged the side on which the tilted desk is a few times with some ease, and if you find any part of the desk gets loose, just pull out any ol Allen wrench and youre as good as gold. -When Im sitting at the desk, I have a bad habit of propping my feet up especially against the back of the desk where the two thin poles meet, but it hasnt broken on me, which is great! (Otherwise the whole desk would probably fall apart...) -I found the middle corner piece has a few metal bits that are supposed to hold up the glass, but even when they get loose and slouch down, the center piece is still very supported. (I guess thats a flaw, but it hasnt broken yet so) -If youre looking for something that has space, is multi-purpose, and easy to assemble, disassemble, and reassemble, then this is the desk for you. -BUT if you are looking to save space, (and I mean REALLY save space) look elsewhere first. Try looking into the corner desk pieces with the extra shelving above the desk, so you'll still have room to store things and have a place to write/use the computer. But if youre wallet says no, then this desk is a good alternative. Anyways if youre looking for lots of space for a relatively cheap price, I definitely recomend this desk.

Fantastic desk
I recently purchased this desk to go with my Futura Craft Station (I prefer to call it my art desk versus a "craft station"...). The two pieces go really well together, and it makes my studio look very modern . The "craft station" is my traditional art desk, while the Work Center serves as my computer and digital art section. Currently the Work Center holds my 27" iMac and my Cintiq 24HD. It creates a magnificent work station that I am so happy to sit at! At first I was worried that the weight of the Cintiq (which is 50+ pounds) would shatter the glass top.... but after sitting there for a week, both un-touched at times and with working on it, the glass definitely holds the weight. Shipping was fantastic, it arrived on Saturday as expected and very early in the morning, which left me plenty of time to put it together and work at my new desk that very day! I was worried about the glass during shipping--my Futura Craft Station arrived with completely shattered glass and had to send it back--but lo and behold, the glass was in perfect shape, despite the box being a little crunched up. Assembly was a snap, and you can choose which side you want the tilting top on. The directions instruct you to place it on the left half of the desk, but for my personal set up, I preferred it on the right--a quick change of which legs you use where switches the tops. The desk is large--part of the reason I chose it--and I have WAY more than enough room for my giant Cintiq, iMac, mouse/keyboard, and even room for my laptop AND scanner!! I highly recommend this desk for any artist or working person who needs the space for multiple devices. It looks classy and fits in well with the look of modern technology.
