Big Shoes To Fill!
Monster High Exchange is a new set of dolls from their characters who have participated in the Monster High student exchange programme, whether leaving Monster High to go to other schools around the world or coming to Monster High. The first wave of dolls includes;Β Monster High Exchange Draculaura , Monster High Exchange Lagoona , Monster High Monster Exchange Program Lorna McNessie Doll Β and Monster High Exchange Program Marisol Coxi and the others (Kjersti Trollson, Isi Dawndancer, Batsy Claro and Finnegan Wake) are due out from Mattel later this year.At the end of the new film Haunted there are two animated shorts included free which run just over 3minutes each; Lochness Lorna and Sayonara Draculaura (or these can now be viewed online). The Lochness Lorna short introduces the new Monster High exchange programme character Lorna McNessie and tells the story of how Lorna comes to be at Monster High from her photo bombing antics that got her in trouble in her home country Rotland! Sayonara Draculaura introduces the new exchange programme at Monster high and shows how Draculaura ends up exchanging to Shibooya, Japan with a funny ending when she is worried she won't fit in and you can see Lagoona as she signs up to exchange to Madread in the same short. The other animated short called Meet You In Monster Picchu is available to view on line and introduces Marisol Coxi into the Monster High exchange programme with her cousin Abbey Bominable and she again features in the webisode The Agony of D'Feet. This Exchange Marisol Coxi doll is bright, colourful and big! She comes with a black doll stand and hairbrush. She stands at a bigger than normal height of approx 31cm tall (the average height for the girl dolls is normally around 26.5/27cm but there are a couple of shorter dolls such as Twyla and River Styxx) and as normal her arms, elbows, wrists, head, hips and knees are jointed and so fully poseable. Her hands and feet are huge in comparison to other Monster High Dolls and her legs are super long. She comes with a passport diary that say's "Monster Picchu" on the front but this is nothing like the diary picture shown in the product pictures so this is obviously a wrong pre-production picture. The diary is once again very disappointing for a Monster High diary and the last few ranges of dolls diary's have all been the same as other than two pages, the other 6 pages are the same thing repeated in different languages. The American version of the doll has a full passport with at least 4 pages of diary entries including a passport picture page so why are Mattel once again only giving us a paltry two pages and not the same diary that the USA has?!!! You can read the full version of text on the Monster High Wikia site but the point is we shouldn't have to and should have the same supplied to us here in the UK. Please be fair Mattel and start giving us the same as the USA version as after all we are paying the same price, if not more than the dollar price for the same doll!Marisol's outfit is a dress (although it looks like a top and skirt) and jacket although as she is so tall the skirt part seems to be extremely short! As her favourite colours are bright pink and bright green her outfit is primarily in those colours. The top of her dress is bright pink and the bottom skirt part is bright green with a black over part with patterns to resemble south america. Marisol's jacket is in bright orange with green and blue patterns on it and all of the outfit, shoes etc are removable if wished although I think you'd struggle to find replacement shoes! Her feet are ginormous and must easily be two or even three times the size of the 'normal' Monster High dolls and to ensure everything balances her hands are very big too. Her shoes are a bright pink with green style tassle and her ankles and wrists have fur detailing like her character in the webisodes. Her hand and toe nails are very clawsome (literally) too. She comes with a cardboard passport like the other exchange dolls do and her bag/suitcase is bright green with big foot prints on it and this does open. Her face and makeup are really pretty and once you get over her size you realise just what a pretty doll she is. Her hair is bright pink with green highlights and orange hair bobbles at the ends and to top it all off (sorry I just had to!) she wears a bright green hat attached to a hairband. I love her shoes which have a sort of Aztec design on them and the whole doll is beautifully made.Marisol is 17 years old and is the daughter of the South American Bigfoot. She likes big and loud (everything!) colours and her favourite colours are bright pink and bright green. She likes loud fashions, music and she herself is very loud as her parents say even when she is whispering it sounds like an avalanche! She doesn't have a pet but loves Llamas and from her webisode Guinea Pigs. Her favourite subject is Physical Deaducation as she is a brilliant casketball player but she doesn't like Dragonomics as you have to be quiet during it to concentrate. She is cousins with Abbey Bominable and she has made friends via web chat with Lorna McNessie prior to exchanging to Monster High. The Exchange Marisol Coxi Doll is absolutely beautifully made and my only gripe is the passport as the rest of the doll is brilliant which is why I have not deducted any stars. If you or your child are a fan of Monster High then this will make a brilliant addition to your/their collection. Gore-geous
I wasn't too sure about this doll, but as she was on sale I thought I would get her anyway, and so glad I did, the doll is really pretty, and as always the details are fabulous as are the shoes, and the Bigfoot footprint bag. Really looking forward to completing the set. And with the discounted price super value for money.
