Spice and Wolf, Vol. 5 - light novel

Great book, really can’t overstate how good this series is. Isuna is a mastermind.

I've been enchanted by this story since I came across the anime not long ago. Wanting more of the story I quickly found these novels. I have not been disappointed with any of the five volumes to date. The basic story of boy meets girl is placed on its edge, not by the unique "nature" of the girl, but instead but the unique perspective of the boy, a traveling merchant. I am constantly surprised by how interesting the intricacies of being a merchant are made. That said, the interplay of Spice and Wolf is also quite well done, even if I sometimes pity the Spice. All in all, a great and engaging story.

Without spoiling too much, this is the best book yet. There are significant developments in the relationship between Holo and Lawrence, and realizations about what's important on the journey. The plot is compelling with wonderful dialogue. The ending is not a cliffhanger, but portends future stories, which makes it an even harder wait until the next entry in the series. Note also that this is equivalent to the second half of Spice and Wolf II (anime series).

I discovered this series through the anime (which was done fantastically, almost word for word from the light novels). After they stopped making the anime and I found out about the light novels, I knew I just had to start reading them. The characters are written SO well, and reading the little insights and the thoughts of Lawrence made me fall in love with the series all over again. No other movie, series, book, etc. has captured me quite like this one has, I’ll be a fan till the end and long after besides.

great continuation but yet again I was not given the American dust jacket. I have 1-6 and only 3 of the books had the jacket. volumes 1,2 & 6. I have no idea why the other volumes lack the cover but it sucks. Anyways, besides that this is a great book and great series. can't say anything bad about Holo cause I Love Her! :) chec this series out if you want a good read. original concept and not like most other corny anime to book writing. although the books were before the anime lol.

Very good series, has an in depth plot and interesting economics. Relations between the two main characters are deep and amusing. Compare to Archenemy x Hero

this is the first time buying a light novel from an anime series, so i thought it would be small in respect to episodes. Nope, I am very pleased. There is even more information than I though there would be.

I assume at this point you know what you are buying as this is the 5th volume, so theres no need to convince you to buy it for the story. But I will let you know that I received it in perfect condition and in great time.
