whats the difference between UC optimized and microsoft optimized version?

I have both versions, as far as compatibility with WebEx on USB connection - both the MS and UC versions seem to work identically. They both synchronize the mute button / LED lights on the unit with the mute icon in WebEx. They were also able to be paired to each other (one 710UC and one 710MS) for stereo conferencing / across the room from each other.

does this work with Mac?

Works perfect, bit you hace to select it like you Chanel for sound in and out, in System Preferences, I'm working in Yosemite in laptop and Mavericks in desktop.

Can I connect the 510 to my PC via Bluetooth, or is the bluetooth just for mobile devices and USB is for PC/Mac?

i received the 510 and it connects to my laptop (using built in BT), but it doesnt seem to show anywhere as a usable device. Its not listed in my sound options as a general or communication device or show in my various Softphone related applications. It does show in my devices and printers list as a headset, but that is the only place it shows up.From what i have read it may need the Jabra Link 360 to work as a BT device on a PC? If you were able to set it up on your PC without this device can you provide more details if you had to do anything special?

How long is the cord?

I did not measure, but the cord appears to be approx. 3-4' long. It would definitely be nice if it was longer. It barely reaches from my computer tower to under my monitor (but i have a big desk).My recommendation is to buy a cheap usb entension cable from amazon or ebay.
