Is this towel very thick or thin? Photos can't tell much about it.

It's thicker than the infant towels you usually see. The material is very soft and dries the baby very well. This is the only towel I will use on my baby now that we have this one.

Is the product safe for health?

I don’t know. It’s a great quality towel. Soft and dries well.

is it a poncho or just a hooded towel? The bear and duck photo shows poncho in the photo but only in the smallest size.

It is a very large hooded towel. So soft. Plenty roomy for our big 8 month old great granddaughter.

It looks cute and it has a good size, but it doesn't look like a 500gsm towel. In fact, it looks like a really cheap and thin material. I don't understand all the good comments.
